Whats your opinion on buying links with pr? Seems like its 4-5$/month for a pr 3-4 sitewide link on a blog or is paying someone to do seo better?

I am mainly looking to rank high in google for my specific keyword and don't really care how I do it.

You can do that. It should be one of several tactics though, you need diversity.

As to whether you do it yourself or pay someone else, guess that depends how involved you want to get, and on your budget.

When you buy a lot of backlinks you may become dependent on them. So take care if you choose this strategy.

What this guy said. Also you can buy links in a diverse style. A lot of seo is about budget and cost efficient. What should you do personally vs outsource?

My tip for the day - if you are paying for all of these high PR links, make 80% of your anchor links linked to your "branded" homepage. So if your site is about wheel chairs and your site name is wackywheels, make your anchor text "wackywheels" in the day and age of panda updates you want to be as natural as possible and the fact is people who "link to your page" aren't going to use "aluminum wheel chair with leather seats" as their anchor. Buy those links!

You could also buy aged domains that have high PR on at least the home page.

I prefer permanent contextual homepage links instead of sitewide links. In addition, combine this with a diverse range of linkbuilding methods to make your link profile look more natural.
