I have recently created a new authority site in the health niche.

Now that my site is indexed, I am starting to slowly backlink. I have all the latest and greatest tools but for diversity I have decided to include some guest posts on high PR health blogs.

I have come across a few gigs on fiverr that will write a review for my site and publish on there blog.

Most of them offer up to 3 links per post.

What do you guys suggest I link to? my homepage? (btw the domain has no keywords that i am trying to rank for), a post that I want to rank? or both?

Since I get 3 links, should I link to: site with the sites name as anchor, post with kw as anchor and site with the url as the anchor?

    Let me know guys :D

Here are some solid points about an AS

That will get you most of what you need to know about what you asked in the OP

Good choice on the guest blogging :)

I would have one link point to the home page for overall link juice flow, and two towards content on your site that you want to rank.

Be sure that the site you are going to guest blog on is worth the time. Think of it as not just a backlink, but a source of traffic.

if this is your warm up, you should go for original and pure content and then move further... with pure content you would be able to generate your backlinks to others.. and link them to where they belong to.

How is the article going to be structured? If the article was about your niche, and in the body of the article, in the page content they were to write something along the lines of

"We talked to Phil Withthefunnyname, a SEO writer at www.yoursitehere.com (with this as the link) and in his opinion is....

In this case I would link to your main URL.

The link will be a good one because it is not at the bottom of the page, it is in a paragraph talking about your niche (SEO in my example), it uses the URL as anchor text (the most common link you can get), and appears to be a natural part of this article. It will also help link you name with your url. All of this is very natural, and natural is good, especially going forward.

Link to an internal page when it makes sense in the article that will link to it. If you have a motorcycle site and your internal page is about motorcycle carburetors, link to that page from pages (or at least the link containing paragraphs) that are about motorcycle carburetors.

This makes sense and is a natural thing to and natural is the direction Google is going.

When you think of link diversity, think of how you would commonly tell someone about a site. What would you write to me to tell me about a new site if you wanted to share. More than likely it would be something like my url, or "click here", or "go here" or "check this out" or some other variation or phrase as anchor text and a written description in the sentence with the link in it.

When <....> is the link, it is much more natural for you to write:

sldebo is the webmaster and owner of <www.stupiddamncomputer.com> a free computer repair website...

    Than it is:

sldebo is the owner of a <free computer repair website> called Stupid Damn Computer.com.

because most people simply do not know how to do that, or take the time to do that even when they know how.

Link Diversity is not the goal anymore. Natural Link Diversity is. Link to your internal pages when the opportunity to do so naturally pops up. Point the rest to your home page. Throw in a few with your name as anchor text and link to your contact us page if you have it indexed. This will help associate your name with your site. (search for bill gates, Micro$oft comes up)

If you are writing the article you can have it both ways, but even still I would not use all 3 links every time. It will not be long before Google starts devaluing any article with exactly 3 outbound links when a lot of them point to the same place, in my opinion. I would use two most of the time and three once in a while, and even a single one occasionally.

Also FYI, you can often get a blog to let you guest post, and get better blogs to post on, by contacting the webmaster and offering them free content, instead of using a junky blog from fiverr.. I almost always take someone up on this if they offer me a quality article. I will make adsense money from it over time and it is one less article I have to create. It also keeps the links related to your niche.

Thanks guys, some real good info :D

In regards to asking niche related sites (not from fiverr) if i can guest post, that is something that I am going to do real soon. I dont have as much time on my hands as I would like right now so paying for someone to do it all seems like the way to go (for now)
