Hello - 1st post (I'm a noob, so pls be gentle). I was recently looking to buy an expiring PR2 domain that's a good fit for a niche site I'm going to build. However, when I check the existing backlinks, almost all of them (they number in thousands) are what would be considered junk (comments on blogs that have nothing to do with the subject, links from pages set up for the sole purpose of backlinking, etc.). The previous owner used the url for an ecommerce site and probably used an seo firm for this. My question is, would I be better off buying a "clean" url with PR0, or do you think the existing backlinks would serve as a foundation for the organic backlinks I plan on building? Do I need to worry about google penalizing this url because of the old backlinks?
