Let's say I can get 10year old domain which for example would be:
    dogtraining.com
and The keyword I want to target is : Training dogs for idiots

So the question is, Should I get that 10year old domain which is related to my niche but not exact match and doesn't have all my keywords or I should register instead a new one : Trainingdogsforidiots5.com ( not exact match but still all keywords in it) ?

Anyone have had any luck developing websites on those old domains and saw any real benefit?

If this old domain is having lot of backlinks go for it. Else stick with new one. Domain age alone will not matter, though its one among the factor.

I wonder why you are adding 5 to it. use some long tail KW which contain your main KW. That way you can rank for those long KW also. But ranking for your KW will be as same as ranking the domain with 5.

    :)

I will use dogtraining.com because it's easier to remember and brandable then I will create page for idiots.. lol dogtraining.com/trainingdogsforidiots

Primary domain name will allow me to target more keywords which will be better :)

Domain with aged will help you gain trust, and good to start getting more backlinks in short time.

But Keyword domain name will give you huge SEO benefit compare to aged domain name.

    Why choose 1?
If I were you, I will buy a Keyword Domain Name and find aged domain name to do 301 redirect to my new site, So I get both benefit :)

if domain is 10 years old and have backlinks yes it is worth money but if it is 10 years old and never been online 0 backlinks then it will be same as new domain. Google count website age when you get the first backlink to your site. So if domain got his first backlink 10 years ago then it should be good.

As the others have said - domain age matters, but it' s not the only thing to think about. Just one of many.

I'd go for the older, more general one if you really want to develop it into an authority site and go after the entire niche.

If you just want to target that one keyword and move on to another niche, go for the exact match domain.

Buy your Longtail keyword and the 10 year old domain, it will definitely have some traffic trickling in and then redirect the traffic from the 10 year old domain to the new on. That way you get best from both.

However, you have to make sure you've got great SEO optimized content, do your social bookmarking and submit to directories - all the usual WH stuff.

You can then follow up with BH SEO.

    Cheers

According to SEO Author Aaron Walter, the PageRank does not transfer to the new owner. Older domains are preferrable however if you buy a recently expired domain name that has a high PR because of its age and accumulated reputation, keep in mind PR doesnt transfer.... search engines see the change of ownership and reset their rankings... meaning you'll have to wait for it to age like fine wine.

I have checked google for "Training dogs for idiots" and you have more than 69 million result , so it takes a long time to get ranked with that keyword with a new domain (From my experience) , so if its an aged and memorable domain go for it and there is a more advantage of that wich is you have more chance to not get into the big G sandbox .
