So I have a buyer from Canada who ordered something from me for about $21. They contacted me the other day saying that upon delivery they were charged $12 for import fees and they paid it to receive the package. Now the buyer is telling me that they didn't know about any import fees before buying the product and since I also didn't mention anything about import fees in the listing they think it's my fault and wants me to pay them back the $12 they paid to the postal man. My question is, as the seller, am I responsible for import fees or is the buyer responsible for it? I told the buyer that the import fees are not charges from me but from their country customs. What should I do? I think if I don't pay them for the import fees they'll probably just leave me negative feedback. I don't think they can open a case on something like this unless they wanted to return the item, but even still they'd only get their refund but not the $12 import fee. Also, if the buyer didn't want to pay the import fee, shouldn't they just have rejected the package and then it would automatically be return shipped to me? If they already went ahead and paid for it, then that was their decision.
