I have seen people selling Twitter accounts with 100K followers for around $250.

This number seems massive and sounds like it would take months to create using software / masive risk of getting account banned?

I have not got into Twitter automation yet and wanted to try it out on a small scale to see if it is worth it for me.

For those of you that don't know me I mostly run viral promotion campaigns so the specific niche of the followers isn't such an issue to me as I would simply promote Twitter related pages with some sort of viral Twitter widget on my landing page before forwarding to the offer to again increase the traffic.

After checking out a few peoples stats where they are getting 25 clicks from a Tweet on a 500 account this means that I would get around 5K clicks from a Tweet from accounts with a total of 100K followers. Probably wont be that great so lets narrow that down to even 500 from a single Tweet, seems very reasonable and could easily make my money back on crap conversion rates from a few tweets and it's not a massive outlay in the first place.

My main question that I have is, for myself targeting Twitter as a niche itself, would it be worth simply buying accounts or creating accounts?

Is the software automated enough to set & forget to build Twitter accounts or does it require a lot of effort with constant account bans just like Facebook and big investments in proxies?
