I have been holding this thought for a long time .......... So here we go........

Unfortunately if you go to any Buy / Sell thread - the first 20 posts will be people asking for review copies... (More often you can also see the same guys who ask for it) - just go to 5 threads and you will easily see that most of the time same people try and take the first few spots saying something like

" Hey - Good luck with your sales - Any review copy for a Jr Vip " !!!

OR

" Plz give me a free review " - Outright blatant

As a service provider I feel for everyone who starts a Service thread and has to offer a review copy to 10 people just to prove - Just because that has become a fashion and a necessity as was the case in DP

Mods already review a service before it starts - So I feel that is more than enough for trusting the service....

I think mods should look at all the Buy Sell threads and give out warnings to whomsoever asks for review copies - Be it a member with 100 posts or 3000 posts ...

Just my thoughts....

If the content seems inappropriate then mods can close the thread....

PS:
Those who ask regularly for reviews (yes i can name many such members) plz dont reply to this thread ... i will have to expose you otherwise :spank:

Thought i will include this for the benefit of all Sellers

Lets take the discussion towards how we can decrease this trend .. instead of pointing out fingers of how many i have asked and how many someone else has... (i agree no one is clean).......

It can be cleaned up with the help of sellers. Just hit the report button, if anyone asks for review copies, if it was not mentioned by the sellers and we mods will take care.

I agree! Specially those "Good luck with your sales" and all that! If one really wish good luck, why not use the "Thanks" button?

Don't post if you are not a buyer.
It's simple if you have never used a service you can't comment on how it works / how effective it is. We ask all thread creators to report any unreasonable posts to a mod where they will be reviewed. If you are found to be using this service unreasonably you will be banned.

same shiet happens with the buyers too mate :) I think I didn't see yet any service on bhw what I bought and the seller didn't asked me to bump his thread :) oh :) yeah ... including yours mate :) ... so ... don't cry for nothing there ... is a strong competition between the service providers ... and it's pretty normal to squeeze every bit available :) ...

Some sellers actually offers free review copies. I suppose on those threads asking a copy is all good and mods can not do much. The ones who don't offer any copies and still if members asks for them its not cool.

ya totally agree with you ...

Best part is you can spot ppl who are doing this again and again just to get the free run....

What do they do ?? " they just sit and keep refreshing the Buy sell section to see new launches !!!

When someone first opens a BST thread I judge that the seller is providing a legit service at a market value price, as such expecting the seller to provide a FREE review is bordering on throwing an insult in the face of the seller!

There is an old saying 'If You Want Something Then Pay For It!'

Worst thing, they never come back with any reviews or a thanks at least! IMO, if you want to ask for a review copy, you have the responsibility to really sit down and test it out and write at least a 250+ words review. That's what I think at least when I ask for a review copy although I've never tried before.

I agree that ppl should not ask for review - seeing as its against the rules.

But I do also think that sellers should give reviews at start of service (at THEIR descretion), first of all it shows they are not just reselling if they can provide a few copies, also it gives everyone a chance to see some results before ordering.

When I was selling services I always gave out many initial reviews, just to show good faith.

I think the mods have enough to do. Sellers should just stop giveaways, set limits on freebies or just tell repeat freebie seekers NO.

I got no problem posting reviews, i.e. bumping threads for good sellers I do business with. My way of saying thank you really.

What chaps my ass, is the freebie seekers that then resell the shit they got as a courtesy. Of course the freebie hounds get tiring as well. Most new BST threads you have to start on page 2 before you can see a meaningful post. The whole first page is filled with beggars looking for a handout that have no interest at all in the product or service. Just seeing what they can get for free.

Only way I see of really going around this is for sellers to not give free review copies, and only discounted ones(maybe with the promise of getting additional service after the review?)

A lot of people look for review copies just to have content/software/services, but why they don't post a review after testing things out doesn't make sense at all. I mean, you're already on the forum making posts...Why not just make one of them be a review? I don't get it. I don't get some people.

I Agree with you, But what can you do, some people like cheap stuff, Because they know the seller looking for feedback

Just provide discounts for the first buyers.

Dont offer bonus services or additional services because it MAY affect the reviews of the first buyer.

Asking a buyer for leaving a review once he has paid for the service is not a problem - As a buyer you have paid for the service and you have a choice of leaving the review if you liked and saw good results...

Out of 5 buyers who buy from me only 1 or 2 leave their review and i am fine with that... My aim is to provide service that will rank people and give a good experience... Its natural for new buyers to see reviews and build trust in service....

Squeezing for discount on existing price and asking for Free review copy is different - So dont mix things...

Do you realize why sellers do that !!

If you build such trends - then sellers by default get in a notion that sales wont happen if i dont give review copies...

No that is not the worst thing !!

Here is what ppl will leave as review

" Very good service - Recommended" !!

OR

" Tried the service - got report in 2 hours -- WOW !! - Recommended " !!!

OR

" Best seller - Good communication , Good report TAT - 5 / 5 " !!!

apparently no where it talks about the service -- but its still very recommended !

What a seller does is all upto him/her ...

I dont understand whats the problem if they are reselling -- As a buyer you should expect results (you have paid for it)

^^^^^^^ (Could not have said it better)

True - mods are overloaded ... But i think the forum has got new mods just for BST -- so i think thr will be much more streamlining now....

Yes - but such a trend has been built because ppl ask and sellers give .... and sellers give cuz they see other sellers giving.... and why are other sellers giving !!!! - Well u knw the drill !!

ppl getting copies and then not posting a review is even more pathetic ... and calls for an infraction frm mod...

No one is gonna snatch the review copy from you unless you provide them yourself. Why not write at the bottom of the thread, that no more review copies available / I am providing 10 review copies with 10% discount? If they still urge for it, just ignore it ??
