    Hello.

I just found a keyword using googles keyword tool that gets 260 global monthly search volume, but the local search volume says 'Not enough data'. The domain name using the exact keyword is also available.
I also have a product that I am able to sell in this niche for a price that beats all current vendors.

Is this a good opportunity? Do you think that is a high enough search volume to make it worth buying the domain.

    Thank you.

Hmm.. 260 global searches is great if you are selling a product that is worth $xx,xxx range so that if you 2 or 3 per month you get a lot of money..

Since you say that you have a product for sale i am guessing that you will develop the domain. So why not take something with bigger search volume and a bit less valuable extension and since you will develop it you can eventually get more visitors/customers..

In which extension have you found this keyword?

My domaining plan is pretty simple. Minimum for .com 1k exact, .net 5k, .org 10k, everything else 50k+

Sorry for not explaining more fully. I have a type of nutritional supplement that I am going to sell. I'll use aspirin as an example product.

If i search aspirin it shows 74,000 global and 50,000 local search volume.

Aspirin is a pain reliever. If i search pain reliever I get 8,000 global search and 5,000 local volume.

My original question was on buying a domain called bestpainreivers.com
This domain is available with a global search volume of 260.

painrelieverforums.com is also available at a global search volume of 22.

    Thanks

Do the math... something with 260 searches monthly will get ~9 searches a day, probably 7/9 will visit your website, maybe 2 will click your adsense... is it really worth it?

What does local volume include? Is it country, ip location, etc?

I am not sure what the keyword search tool includes in its local volume by default. I am located in the u.s. and it believe it includes the entire country. I'm not sure though.

I am not sure if it is worth it or not, that why I'm here. There is a lot of searches for this product type. bestproducttype.com might be a good idea? Thats what I was wondering.

I would also be making a minimum of $15 per unit I sale. Larger units would make me 50+$

Using aspirin and pain reliever for an example again.

If I put a aspirin and pain reliever in the google traffic estimator with no limit on cpc or budget it shows me this

    add position 1-3
Average CPC: $0.66 (at a maximum CPC of $2.16)
Estimated clicks per day: 11 - 14 (at a daily budget of $10.00)

I can tweak it to most cost effective about right here
    add position 1-3
Average CPC: $0.28 (at a maximum CPC of $0.50)
Estimated clicks per day: 9 - 11 (at a daily budget of $5.00)

    hmm.

I am always looking for expired domains that have a good exact match search volume, I do a lot of research and buy only really good ones...I only bother with .coms and .nets... I have a similar approach to dejanlesi - above 1k is doable, although I also look at cpc if it is an Adsense niche...anyway feeling generous...I have 8 domains which I researched, but I am too busy to do anything with, so I haven't registered them...I am not selling these they are unregistered, you can register with anyone, They are all .coms with 1-6k+ exact searches...

howtounlocktheiphone.com - 1,900 global - great ebay niche selling jailbreak software
howtounlockyouriphone.com - 1,900 global - great ebay niche selling jailbreak software
    howtoinstallaharddrive.com - "how to install a hard drive" 1,900 global - CPC - 89cents
    howtoanswerinterviewquestions.com - 4,400 global - 41cents CPC
    howtobuildasolarcell.com - 720 global
    howtogetridofhemroids.com - 2,900 incorrect spelling, but Google doesn't correct it as it is a commonly miss-spelled word...CPC 3.60...nicceee
    photoshoptipsandtricks.com - 2,400 global - CPC - 97cents
    howtomakeamyspacelayout.com - 5,400 global - CPC - 1.51

Say thanks if you purchase any or enjoy my sharing spirit, there is a 3+ hours worth of research on these...Cheers

I don't think you need to pursue it, especially when you do your research based on Google. I've seen other paid keyword tool that later I checked on Google said not enough data, but yet the site got 50+ visitors a day on page 2! But I wouldn't bet on google keyword tool. If it doesn't have good search volume, I won't bother. It's nice to know that you have competitors too, that way you'll know that you're going to make money.
