What is your preference to find good expired domains and pay for them or learn to scrape them yourself?

I am a rookie getting into SEO and it seem like you need a bunch of tools to do it yourself, i.e majest, moz, ahrefs etc and then on top of that you need a program to scrape and dig for these domains.

What is your preference and why?

Majestic helps a lot in this field to get some domains in very low price, I found some unique domains specially on health niche which helps a lot in getting traffic to my website. I really enjoy it.

I would say if you can find some good names that are expiring buy it. I wouldnt pay $1000 for a domain but you could find some under $100 that fits your niche then go for it. If your going to need multiple domains then scrape them.

You can actually scrape your own expired domains for free mate. You just need to put in more time and effort as opposed to buying them, but it will save you some cash at least. Check out this tutorial: http://www.inetsolutions.org/find-cheap-high-pr-expired-domains-step-by-step-tutorial/

    Regards!

Scrape your own. Only a few people here sell domains that is really, really hard to find on your own. Others just sell regular domains that you can easily scrape on your own.

If you only need a few expired domains(less than 10), I suggest you to purchase them, scraping/filtering the expired domains cost both money and time, I have list of TF/CF 15+ expired domains which are free to register, PM me if you are interested in them.

You can scrape them, but you will find only low quality or a few medium quality domains here and there.

People are fighting for good PBN domains, that's why they go for 200$+ at auctions, so that only people who already make money doing this can afford those.

It depends on your situation. If you value each domain around 40.00 and you need 3 hours of work to find it, unless you value your time at $14/hour, it's better to just buy it and save the time.

You should understand how to evaluate a domain in both cases. Buying instead of searching for yourself is just a way to save time/scale.

Should you have someone creating a scraping program to use instead of paying monthly fees to use ones out there already?

Maybe someone could recommend what they use to look for expired domains?

I can't really. Being a seller myself, I haven't tried any other sellers, and I don't consider my prices 'low'. You can take a look if you want though.

I simply go with MOZ and get details from there.

That makes no sense whatsoever in relation to the conversation above.

Are you suggesting he gets domains from MOZ? Where? Did I miss that?
Or you meant analyze them with MOZ? That's also a bad idea (comment spam is enough to trick them)

He prop means using Moz for checking the domain's metrics.

OP, I scape my own domains and then run 'em through Majestic/Ahrefs (worth using).
