Business to consumer advertising has an entirely different approach compared to business to business marketing. Most people see marketing as just selling, and for them there is no differentiation between the messages sent to a consumer and a business owner or a business decision maker. Here is a guide on the marketing strategies that need to be followed when choosing business to consumer advertising.

Your marketing should focus on fulfilling a need among your target consumers. Because B-to-C is entirely product based, you should try to sell something that would solve the problem of a consumer rather than selling something that you want to sell. Because the target market for B2C is extremely large, it would be helpful to create a niche for your products or services. This would help focus on particular features that differentiate your business from the competitors. An important strategy in B2C advertising is to become automated. In fact, it was the business to consumer sellers that were the earliest ones to switch to marketing automation for upselling and other things.

Another important marketing strategy is to create a ‘place' strategy or a distribution channel that would ideally meet your consumers' needs. Usually, this strategy is not considered as the focus is on getting the product to a larger number of outlets. Your focus should be to achieve this objective in a cost-effective meaner, else it can have a direct impact on your business' bottom line.

The next important strategy for B2C advertising is to choose the mobile platform. There is almost a revolution in the world of cell phones and smart devices, and you cannot afford to overlook the huge advertising potential of this medium. With the ease in access to information about your target audience, it is not difficult to reach them instantly. The next business to consumer advertising strategy is to lure your potential customer to your website. This essentially requires optimizing your website.

Consumers increasingly use search engines to research before purchasing any product or service. Experts suggest that making cold calls any longer is a waste of time. Rather, businesses should check for prospects that raise their hand by showing interest through searches or getting involved in social media conversations. When it comes to business to consumer advertising, you cannot do without making your messages personal and friendly. This factor makes a major impact on the end user in making a purchase decision.

As a consumer marketer, it is important that you follow your customer. It would be required to understand the movements in the economy and create value-based offers and messages. You can also use events for building emotional attachment with your brand and product. When it comes to spending money, emotion plays a significant role. Using events you can bring your prospects in and encourage them to remain loyal customers for long.

These are some of the leading advertising strategies that can be used by business to consumer sellers for promoting their business. Make sure to choose your strategy wisely.
Now Please take some time to share your strategies here with me.

    Thanks

Honestly i was greatly interested in your thread, but the layout of it made me drop the read in 1 sentence.

If you could add some spaces and broken lines (enter button) it would be better!

Good share! Solve their problems / quench their NEEDS is the most important part in selling *not only to consumers, but businesses too.

I would go as far as make a profile of your typical/ideal customer (age, sex, location, earnings, family, partner status, interest, whats important to them... etc.), because the more you understand your target market the easier and better you can serve them.

Go hang out where they hang out (I.e if you want to sell how to make money books, go to IM forums like this one and see what topics are hot and join the discussions / build rep. etc.), forums, popular blogs, twitter/fb/other social sites are great places to make a presence for yourself/business.

This is a great idea, actually making the profile of the target clients. And building the sales approach from there.
