Recently my dad has been more stressed out and stuff as the place he works at expects him to do so much yet gets paid extremely low. He wants to start a business but have no idea on exactly what, i was thinking of doing some importing from china in bulk and sell items here, but i cant seem to decide on what product to exactly sell. I mean competition is high, i was thinking of selling headphones ( custom ) but yet again im not sure about it.
Any ideas??

Where are you from? That would give a clue to the competitiveness of the industry you're aiming to target and also the feasibility.

Competition is a good thing, because it means there's money in that domain, but in order to be successful you need to secure an advantage.

Do you have an advantage in selling headphones? How do you plan to sell them? How much money do you have to invest?

There are a ton of good ideas but you need to research and cover all the risks...

I'm from SA

I'm not exactly set on selling headphones, i'm still thinking what else product i can sell. Maybe a established product but get it customized...

Never invest in anything, you don't know about at all. And not at all, when you are asking to anonymous people on a Public Open forum !

you must consider a business that is connected with your passion if you really want to be successful in the long run

i realized that thinking of a whole new product is quiet daunting, maybe i can use some already known stuff but add my own designs and logo etc. Just not sure on what products are actually selling right now.

In my opinion the product it's not the most important thing in the success of a Business, the most important thing is the way you sell. Check what the people in your local need and think about the best way to sell them a product. Try Dropshipping, that way the risk is not big.

True true, i'm going to take a chance here. I mean i got to start somewhere, any good products out there that seem profitable?.
I'll have to just bite the bullet, and pay for the shipping etc. Just cant decide on a good product to focus on.

I wouldn't sell stuff like that unless you have orders for them first. You don't want to end up with 1000 pairs of headphones lying around in your garage.

Why not try learning a bit about the stock market and investing with JSE or something similar.

Yeah buying in bulk is risky, but i'm not completely sold on the headphones idea. competition is high there and i don't feel it will be worth it too. Lol Stock markets seem complicating.
