If you pay for a PR release on some of the top sites the results are excellent...

Traffic - feedback - enquiries plus viral backlinks as a bonus...

I've gotten some good links, decent traffic quality, but no real conversions. I think it's very dependent on the topic of the release, quality, and if you get exposure on the right platforms.

    Pinakel,

If your writing is compelling enough and you send visitors to a relevant landing page via a link the press release, there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to convert some people. As the_demon mentions, the topic of your release and even the product/service you are selling will affect conversions. For example if your sales cycle is long and requires a lot of contacts before conversion, it may not lend itself well to any kind of online conversion. If the process is short however and the prospect does not need a lot of information to buy, then it should work very well. You could also tag your URL's to track them better in reports if you are using analytics.

Here is a good post on press releases and conversions,

    Hope that helps,

    Shawn

    Hi Pinakel,

Oh yes - all good PR sites send in a decent amount of traffic. Paid sites like SB Wire and PR Buzz send in more via Google News and syndication partners too. The top sites also have metrics to gauge the amount of traffic coming in from the submission so you know exactly how useful that has been. Check this thread out for more info - http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ation-starts-just-5-includes-google-news.html
    All the best :)

I would say, PR is the best way to start off your new website. Yes, IF you use top sites like PRweb PRbuzz ...you are most likely to convert the traffic if you have good landing pages and have a good thing to sell them
