    irfanview?

Not on a windows machine at the moment, but I am sure you can bulk resize/rename/watermark, and it is free.

For images: irfanview or one of the many plugins for Gimp.

    For video: virtualdub. edit->process directory.

I have a bulk watermarking tool that is amazing. It does professional watermarks automatically and it has many great options for the watermark also.

I'm not in the biz of just giving out my secrets on the forum everytime, but if you PM, I can tell you what I use, and also tell you where and how to get it free.

It is professional product. Ok, C U

For those wondering I don't sell anything, just ask around or check my other posts.

but I dont always just give out my secrets on the forum. Peace.

ffmpeg can surely do that in bulk and it's free. You just need to tweak the parameters and it runs from command line on basically any platform, iOS included :D

I believe there should be a port called WinFF or something that has a GUI for Windows, but tend to avoid GUIs as much as possible when working with large quantities of anything... It's a matter of taste. HTH!

    Really?!?

I don't want to hijack the OP's thread, but the value of the forum is precisely from the information that is shared openly. It is therefore available to everyone reading the thread, and preserved for posterity.

I have always thought that PMs should be used to share personal information and maybe commercially sensitive information. Not sure how pointing someone to a tool they could be using would warrant a secret PM conversation.

    But that's just me.

    Such a jerk

I guess everything you learn is secret. Nothing is a secret, nothing but your poor attitude.

    For the OP

I use the GIMP, it's free and it's not secret.

An encoder is just a program that converts a video to a certain file format eg. mpeg or flash. When you watermark a video, you're basically extracting every video frame and pasting your watermark graphic over the top, then you're re-encoding the image files for each frame and the audio (in sync) into a single movie file. So most video editing software is technically an "encoder."

For most video formats you have two separate codecs, one for video and one for audio. So if you're encoding a video to be a .mpg file then you would use the MPEG2 codec for the video and MP3 for the audio, all wrapped up into what we see as a single .mpg file.

ffmpeg is known to be pretty fast at encoding, which is very CPU intensive and takes a lot of time. Many film production companies use it.

OK, there's a limit to what should be kept secret & that's certainly not the case of ffmpeg in my book, so here you go. :D

    Code:
    ffmpeg -i stupidytvideojustdownloaded.flv -sameq -s 480x360 -vf "movie=logo.png [logo];[in][logo] overlay=10:main_h-overlay_h-10 [out]" movie.mpg

This is a sample way to watermark with a PNG file called logo.png a video aptly named "stupidytvideojustdownloaded.flv" (change it to whatever you wish) that might be a video you just downloaded OFF the mighty YT with one of the gazillion free tools available. Il'll spit out a video called movie.mpg

Firefox, Chorme, each major browser has plugins to download off YT and other video platforms. There are even stand alone solutions as suggested by other members on this thread.

Run this thingy from command-line (yes it also works on windows and you can create a batch). What's the advantage you say...

Either on your computer or on a server it'll fit the bill in a simple script that can watermark thousands of videos on a schedule or whenever you want. Be happy! :D

P.S. This will take a while because it'll transcode the flv/mp4 (or whatever you throw at it) to an mpeg. Look on the docs of the website to understand what I'm writing if this sounds like greek for some reason...

P.S2 Certain versions of ffmpeg have been compiled by weirdos that didn't include the watermarking parts for reasons that are not immediately understandable by yours truly. Search more, if you're serious abt it. :p
