Anyone know a decent way to mass download a bunch of youtube videos without having to do them one at a time?

Not looking for download/upload bot or any management software, I just need to batch download onto my PC.

    Thanks

there are plenty of command line youtube downloaders out there but most if not all are just single video download but with a little creativity you can easily turn them into multidownloaders (hint: bash/shell scripting)

Thanks guys, I thought there might be a nice simple method out there that I haven't found yet.

It's given me a couple more options to consider

You can do it with scrapebox. It can search, filter, short, and mass download YouTube videos.

Haven't got scrapebox and can't justify the cost for this one project.

    Thanks anyway

I personally use youtube-dl (unix) but I can't for the life of me remember where I got it, it's either github or yum.

Edit: Yeah it's yum so if you're unix based just yum install youtube-dl and youtube-dl url for command. If you're not a little coding savvy just get the list of youtube urls you wanna download and add "youtube-dl " in front of each and copy and paste that sh*t into a console et voila you have a buttload of youtube videos on your hdd.

I'm not sure how much you value your time, but the one time fee of like $77 is a pretty sweet deal. You'll probably spend a ton of time trying to cobble together a "free" solution which will end up costing you a ton in time. I'd be surprised if you only used the tool for this one project. You can do so much with Scrapebox.

Anyways, that's just my 2 cents on it. Run your business however you want, but it might be worth considering.

Try this: https://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-YouTube-Download.htm, it can handle list of urls from external text files. I just tried it, it works flawlessly. With the free version you can download videos up to 30 minutes long. Under settings switch on the auto download.

If it's not good enough, just record an iMacros macro of the download process on a site like keepvid and feed the macro with the uls from a .csv. Play the macro in loop. Easy-peasy. :)

Nothing to do with time value, it's not for my main business.

I just need to download a bunch of YouTube videos, never had a need to use a program like scrapebox for anything else.

That looks decent, the videos are max, 1-2 minutes long so it should work for me.

If I could sit down with you and your doing anything online, Id bet in 30 mins time you could find several things to use Scrapebox for. It happens all the time, Im not trying to sell you on it, but you might have a look, its the swiss army knife of internet marketing and most small business owners that do anything online could find multiple uses for it.

Possibly, but my main business is offline. When I decide to shut up shop and just concentrate on my online business then I might buy scrapebox but for the few bits that I currently do online (getting more each day) it just isn't worth it.

Besides, I just wouldn't have the time to learn how to use it at the moment.

What exactly do you mean by "mass download a bunch of youtube videos without having to do them one at a time?"
Do you want to download random videos?

If you want to download all videos from a channel or a whole playlist you can JDownloader - you just need to copy the HTTP of the playlist or channel and press download and it will download all videos.
Jdownloader has a function called 'link gatherer' (don't know the exact english term) if you use it everything that is copied to the clipboard will be gathered and you are able to download it.
