Hello, my name is Sebastian. I haven't been active in marketing for a long time but I have been lurking around and digesting tons of information until I decided to take some action.

    My skills?

I'm a very good Video editor and currently making a stable income off of it, also, making money from freelancing every now and then as a designer for pretty much anything, I know my way around photoshop and design like the back of my hand. Also experienced with building websites, not only using platforms but programming too (simple ones though, rarely necessary) I learn pretty fast and actually looking forward to technical challenges.

    What am I doing now?

    1. I make money off of filming and editing weddings (around 1000$/month, three days/week, weekends gone) but that's only valid 5-7 months/year, season job.
    2. I manage the website and social networks for a decent-sized company in the pacific, that brings me merely over 200$/month and it takes about 30-60 minutes of my time daily.
    3. If I get more free time, I usually take on Freelance projects from Odesk, currently building about a website/month for 4-600$ as an extra income.

Tier 2. I have a friend which I issue tasks to and we work together, splitting the money of a few projects like:

    1. We ordered 120$ worth of iPhone 4/4S cases from China, we are building an online shop, Web 2.0 on facebook to sell them. We can sell them two times cheaper than anyone around here and still around 6-10 times more expensive than we buy them. We expect, for starting, a profit of at least 800$ for our investment. The market is undersaturated in our country (Romania, btw) there's no one selling decent cases with awesome prints, just plain boring ones. And trust me, there are plenty of teenagers with iPhones out there. We wish to escalate this to selling electronics (like iphones, ipods, psp's, etc.). As a future plan.

    2. We have a website, getting 20-30 targeted visitors/day, but they are somewhat useless right now. The website is about facebook covers, we upload 2-3 facebook covers/day with relevant tags and description. After the first week and the first 20 covers added we started getting 20-30 visitors/day, we plan on monetizing this with poker ads or the worst case scenario: Adsense, it should be fine since everything is white-hat-legit though. We don't expect huge profits from this, it's mostly to have a website and an audience we can advertise to later on.

    3. We got another website called good movie blog and we wish to use some CPA blackhat tricks to get some extra income to invest it into the white-hat legit businesses when big shot movies get launched. This is quite problematic right now, I'm trying to find a CPA network and understand how I can get a personal content locker, pretty alien things to me right now.

    4. We got a pack with 25.000 twitter short funny tweets and we want to setup a bot to post them daily and have the account grow. I still have zero idea on how to do this.

    5. We got accepted into CPA Lead (somehow, some time ago, with a personal IT blog that had original content) and now I was thinking we should take advantage of that and find a white-hat way to monetize.

    6. We were thinking of escalating a local-online marketing method, like the ones with the dentists in [insert city] and then ask for a monthly subscription. I'll let you know how that works out.

    How are we working?

We use Yammer, we made a company, made a group inside the "company" for "executives" and we have pages for each project, simple as that, we post tasks, suggestions and questions for each project and we manage to get stuff done even if it's a lot of work.

    Goal?

Our goal is to make money, build businesses, learn.

    Ultimate Goal?

Me, personally: I wish to do something useful. I wish to create a product that is useful and professional. I wish to find a need and have the funds and the competence to fulfill that need, for the right price.

    I believe:

I believe BlackHatWorld is a really awesome place to learn a huge deal of no-bs things. And even if my journey is not completely online or related to internet marketing, it is still our common goal: Make a business model and build an empire from scratch, through the internet.

    A few things:

With this thread, I wish to inspire others and help people generate ideas. I also wish to get help and opinions through this. I won't be posting daily updates but will instead post at least three times a week with how it's progressing.

Let me know if you have any questions! Thank You!

Good luck in your ventures! Wish you the greatest success!

One question I have though, is this something that is repeatable? "I manage the website and social networks for a decent-sized company in the pacific, that brings me merely over 200$/month and it takes about 30-60 minutes of my time daily."

$200 - $400 an hour is pretty solid... if it is a scalable business, why not blow that up?

I work 30-60 minutes for four or five days/week. and get paid as 200$/month. so it's not 400$/hour. I just update his facebook, linkedin, rewrite an article every now and then. And all the graphic work in the company comes back to me, such as making websites, designing brochures, editing photos, editing tutorial footage, etc. (for all of these, I get paid separate, not together/month)

Also I forgot to mention, I wish to build and sell iPhone/Android apps. I'm learning how to do that right now, hopefully in 5-6 months I'll have a few good solid apps for sale.

Thank You for the tip! That would be quite useful to me. I would've posted more updates but unfortunately not many things have changed.

    New Projects planned: 3

    Total projects started:
    1

    Issues
: Hardware. Plain hardware, the other guy I'm working with ended up without a computer, I scrambled some old pieces that I had laying around and managed to pull all of them together in a pretty pathetic computer. Right now He can use it for browsing and hopefully we'll get some shit done.

As a team with marketing projects, haven't managed to pull any kind of income yet, but as a freelancer and contractor, this week managed to pull off:

    Filming and editing: 200€
Freelancing (website and social pages production): 600$

    Total money so far: 850$

    Thoughts:
    - Looking for a place to rent, so we can have our computers there and work undisturbed in a right environment.
    - Making money with CPA out of video downloading is oversaturated, if we don't find a way to bring heavy traffic outside of youtube it will be useless to us.
    - The computer I will buy next week has two quad core xeon processors and I will use it as a server workstation when we're not working with it. Think of a way to monetize that, otherwise it's a useless piece of hardware.

That's it for now, will post this week again, just waiting for things to start moving.

You can use a server to run SEO campaigns while you're not there using it. These SEO campaigns would be money assuming you are able to rank sites with your SEO skills. This also would help remove the need for YouTube traffic to promote CPA if you pick a niche with which the traffic would convert via ppd.

    Best of luck!

    Days 6-8

    New Projects: 2
    Started projects: 2

    - I've restored the old website with all it's posts
    Stats: 4-15 Unique visitors/day (worldwide)
    Monetizing: Adsense
Need to: Change theme into a better design where I can have adsense

    - Fiverr Gig still waiting for video approval.
Might need to buy 2-3 gigs to have feedback so people would buy.

    Thoughts:
    - I should suspend most projects for now and focus on few of them.
    - The guy I am trying to work with seems highly unreliable, I'll most likely end up working alone.
    - Think of a way to monetize CPA lead.
    - Buy&Set up that new domain, find a way to register it without verified paypal.
    - Start working on the #1 online shop.
    - Get some sleep.

    Stats:
    Since last update: $0.00
    Total: $850.00

I agree with this one. There is a huge market for this right now, and after much searching around we have found a way to build these type of apps for the smartphones without much work. (In fact we can build games that notice the wii controls as well... )

What type of apps were you thinking of building?

    Cheers!

Fiverr is really fucked at the moment. I am looking forward if you get any sales. Their subcategories totally fried the search.

I'd like to try to build smart games, hard to beat and eventually move to complex multiplayer games. While in parallel, as a smartphone user, observing needs and building useful apps to fulfill those needs.

I have an animoto pro account that I use for slideshows for local weddings, thought I'd make 1minute videos fo 5$ with it, they are easy to make and if I get 10 orders/day then 40$ for 1 hour of work isn't that bad. But it wouldn't be worth it if it weren't for the already existing animoto account. Also, there are many WF marketers there, buying videos by the dozen, I know this since I was making videos in sony vegas for 5$/fiverr, it was ridiculous ammount of work for very little money, but I was still getting 50-60$/week.

    Day 8-9

Sunday was simple, overslept, went out for a drink, hanged out late. Managed to pull a little work together:

    New projects: 0
    Started Projects: 3

    Work done:

    - Made a new GIG on Fiverr offering the same service but this time made a better HD video to present it.
    - Did some keyword and niche research
Found a need in a niche.
Registered a domain with that keyword
Installed it on my Host, found an appropriate wordpress premium theme @ BHW.
    - Edited some videos but not very much.

    Thoughts:
    - I could easily download a series of good wallpapers and create a batch in photoshop to resize them all and add the appropriate logo and even save them in the same folder numbered.
    - I should focus a lot on building white hat content for the recently launched website, focus later on monetizing.
    - Get some free time with good coffee and develop the first APP idea then see how I can implement it with Adobe Flash.
    - Find a way to white-hat monetize CPA lead.
    - Find a way to monetize GoodMovieblog.com (blackhat most likely)
    - Find a new theme for facebook covers website.
    - Properly spread adsense on fb covers website.

    New Income: $0.00
Spent money: $26.00 (13$ by mistake, hopefully I'll get a refund)

    Total money: $850.00

I used to do everything in Final Cut pro but Mac's are overpriced so I got Adobe Premiere & After Effects CS 5.5 X64 with nVidia Quadro + Cuda. Way faster, way better.

Did you ever hear the phrase "A jack of all trades, but a master of none" ?

I think you could be taking on with almost too much, why not focus all your efforts in one certain part of IM and excel... you can keep any side jobs for drinking money.

I used to take on with way too much without even realizing it, I ended up doing everything half assed because I wasn't dedicated to mastering one exact field.

Just food for thought OP, I also wish you all the best of luck in your journey :)

I know what you mean and I am very aware of that, the thing is some of them are to be making money easy, not many, but easy (like selling videos on fiverr with animoto). Some of them are for long term, such as these niche websites and currently all my focus is on them for starting them. But growing them won't take more than 2-3 hours/day maximum, and there's plenty of time after launching to take care of 3-4 websites.

I feel like I have a lot of free time and that's why I'm trying to do these many things but I had in mind that exact same phrase, I've heard it before and I find it an eye opener, because of that I have a clear list of priorities in my head and all of my focus goes to the niche projects while the other projects receive just leftovers for when their time comes (3 projects are overkill, not going to start building them this year + the apps project)

    Hey,

i think you need to focus on money!

    Make some time management.

Of course big projects take a lot of time to develop, i also have 4 projects starting this year.

It's important you dont go to fast in bussines and not to slow, take your time to devolep your buisnessplan and your marketing strategy, but don't take forver to do something.
