Been out of the SEO game for awhile. I would be going churn and burn style first to test a specific market. I'll be focusing on ranking many low competitive keywords under one domain, so my question is should I even bother building links to my home page or just to the inner pages? I could care less if the home page ranks, just want the inner pages to rank.

I looked around and couldn't see much on this. Sorry if I'm being a newbie :p

Read up on silo structures if you're planning on building a big site ranking for long tails.

If you are looking for Churn and Burn, Then building links for homepage alone is enough.
Also don't over optimize for your keywords. Mix the links with Generic - 50%, Naked URL-10%, Brand Keywords - 15% and remaining 25% for keywords that you want to rank.

    Thanks man, it's a start.

I did forget to mention all the keywords would be based around the same niche.

Well the problem with that is I don't want to wait for the inner pages to naturally rank. Like I said, I've been out of the SEO game for awhile but I'm gonna assume the inner pages would rank faster and better if I blasted them directly, no? Keywords would be around the same niche but each page would have let's say a different product, meaning the keywords and content I would be targeting won't appear on the home page as much. Appreciate the help :)

    Home Page:
For ranking inner page you need to focus on inner page optimization. Try to keep keywords which you are targeting in inner pages and get back links on that page from high quality website. Doing this will boost the keywords on higher position.

That's already done. I'm talking about building links now ;)

Should I be building links to the home page with fresh content and links to inner pages, directly to the inner pages or both? That's the question :D

Go for both homepage and subpages so the juice would flow between subpages to homepage and vice versa. Also it would look unnatural if you don't link to homepage. And yes this ratio looks good "Mix the links with Generic - 50%, Naked URL-10%, Brand Keywords - 15% and remaining 25%" . I use naked url more and keywords less but everybody has his own way. Test it yourself and find the ratio that suits you best.

Forget to tell if you are building hundreds of long tails at once. I suggest you to drip feed your articles like 10/day. Do not post all 200 in one day. It works much better if you drip feed.
