    Hi all,

I am currently link building to my site but would appreciate your opinions/advice.

Let say the site has 10 pages that I want rank. I am building some PBN links to the high volume pages but I'm not 100% sure on the best approach for some of the "minor" pages. Do I:

    (a) Build links to each page I'm trying to rank? This might end up being Web 2.0s, etc as PBNs will get expensive for all pages!
    (b) Concentrate on building lots of links (including PBN) to the home page - then relying on the internal linking structure to pass juice to the 10 pages?

I have seen some good examples of a "hybrid" approach - PBN/mixture to home page and PBNs to a few select pages, then the other pages rank without backlinks. I've seen this myself on some low search volume/comp keywords but not all the time :)

    What do you do?

    Thanks!

Depends on your niche. Look at the sites currently ranking and check their ratio of homepage links to deep links (and ratio of branded terms to money terms). Using that as a starting point.

30% of all your links to home page 70% diluted within inner pages. Best way anything more is risky. Use on page internal link building to power everything up!

All links going to the home page would be silly - that's asking for trouble.

When you say "minor pages", do you mean from the same website? If so, then yes, you have to do link building for inner pages as well. That's normal practice.

Agree with comments, the aim is to make it look natural, so spread the links out amongst the pages. Typically main pages will get the majority, but spread out links to inner pages as well

Thanks for all the comments. I might not have been too clear in the OP.

Its not a case of linking only to home page or only inner page. Say I have a budget for 20 PBN links and 20 Web 2.0 links, do I send most of these to home page to boost "authority" and hopefully make inner page ranking easier later on, or do I send those PBN links to a couple of inner pages....but then have to build more PBN links to additional inner pages later on?

It depends if the web2.0's are amazing quality... if they are REALLY good manual content and all the bells and whistles then aiming them at the money site is fine. If they are just ok, then aim them at the PBN. But beware just hitting your site with ONLY PBN LINKS... you need a natural footprint and if you just slam the site with PBN links and never lay anything else its not exactly natural looking.
