What is the best way of building a AA list with high PR but low OBL? Should I find blogs using the link: command, post a test comment, check live links, then filter them by PR and OBL or is there any other easier or even faster way of doing this?

Yeah, go to heavily spammed blogs. Use the addon "Backlink Checker" on Scrapebox, get thousands to millions of Auto-Approve URLs,

    Then share it on BHW

As mentioned by Kalyken, you should find blogs that are already heavily spammed.

Here is what you want to do:
    1. What you want to do then is extract the OUTBOUND links of that page via Scrapebox. This will extract all of the "spammers" URLs.
    2. Remove duplicate domains or URLs (I prefer URLs as I want to get internal URLs links and not just domain links)
    3. At that point you'll then take that list and do backlink checks on all of the spammers URLs.
    4. Remove duplicate URLs again
    5. Beginning posting like on the list that you compiled, I've managed compiled lists of MILLIONS of URLs so be careful as that can take a long time. You can get creative though and run the lists through further checks to find active blogs so you don't waste time.
    6. Save "successfully" posted list, and check for found links. Make sure that you extend your settings when checking links so that you find all possible blogs. Far too often people don't have the right link checking settings and will miss a majority. My Scrapebox link checking settings are:
Settings --> Adjust Timeout Settings: Link Checker Timeout: 90 Seconds
Settings --> Adjust Maximum Connections: Link Checker: 40 (smaller if you don't have a fast connection/computer!)
    7. This will compile a nice list of URLs, if you want to get a WHOLE sites URLs I'll sometimes extend that list further by scraping all of a websites URLs to extend my lists. You can do that via the site:url.com search query.

    No problem!

A few minor changes on Scrapebox can literally TRANSFORM your results with the tool.

You guys think blogs with obl of less than 20 are a good way to build the AA list regardless of PR?

Running PR and OBL check is a waste of time, if you are gonna blast your buffer sites. Just harvest, blast and forget!

I have a really hard time finding low OBL AA blogs using the above described method. While I have a large collection of "low quality" AA lists that I've built by collecting spammer backlinks, I still rely on mass scraping and posting to find the gems that haven't been spammed to death yet.

The main difficulty in scraping your own lists is having lists to harvest with. Gathering keyword lists can be pretty frustrating especially when they get large. Right now I'm running my biggest keyword list (60m keywords!) through SB and wonder if I'll ever see the end of it.

So scraping your own list has the advantage of being less spammed (if you're using the right footprints), but stealing other people's backlinks is easy. The only other downside to stealing backlinks is a large number of them won't be SB postable. A great way to filter these out is to create an "exclusion" list to run against your URL list. This can remove forum profiles and article directories and make your life a lot easier in the long run.

Step 3: So this step allows us to (after step1-2 allow us to first pull spammed blogs) then from the spammed blogs pull the backlinks the spammer has built.

Exactly - chances are if the spammers are hitting AA blogs then they don't care about the "quality" of the backlinks and probably spray and pray in an attempt to get backlinks.

That means that they have other AA backlinks that you can build off of.

Geocities used to be PR8, so by that same logic wouldn't any link from a Geocities site be a PR8 link then? ;)
