Hey BHW'ers!

Hope you’re all crushing it!

I’m kicking off this post to keep myself accountable and get back to work on my UK tourism blog, which has been down for a while. Just renewed the domain, and now it’s time to dive back in!

The site focuses on one of the most popular and stunning tourism hotspots in the UK—visited by millions every year! I’ve got a killer domain that’s already ranking decently with a few low-value posts, so there’s huge potential here I feel.

Content-wise, I'll be mixing things up with a blend of organic and AI-driven articles, but mostly keeping it real with my own content.

I’m not setting any crazy goals just yet, but getting AdSense approval feels like a solid first milestone.

Would love any tips, tricks, or advice from those who’ve built successful travel/tourism blogs! Drop them below!

Let’s do this!

Looking ahead, if the site grows large enough, there’s huge potential to partner with local hotels, restaurants, and other businesses through affiliate programs. I’ll also be leveraging social media to build a strong following and drive traffic back to the site. Exciting times ahead! :p

Update #1

Not much to report
Just setting the site up, trying new themes and setting it up in good stead for going live.
It's decent now, just making it a bit better.
Will soon be live and I'll be posting content shortly.

Is it a country code domain? If not, how much did you pay for it roughly?

Good luck!

I didn't pay much at all, I can't remember how much it was but it was about £15-30. Its a .com domain but fairly short and eye catching, and describes the intent of the blog perfectly.

With AI Content and Human touch you can do big things. :)

Good luck with your journey and wish you success... :)

To what degree do you recommend using AI in a blog? Just using it to assist with content? From what I've seen from others full AI articles slightly altered by yourself don't really seem to cut it nowadays, especially with the wave of Google updates.

Pure AI articles will not rank so you need to edit it with Human touch or with AI tools...

In addition to targeting keywords and formatting your blog posts as well as loading them up with multimedia elements and all that good stuff, you should also roll up your sleeves and do Reddit commenting on specific subreddits.

I drive traffic and raise brand awareness this way.

When I launch a campaign for myself, my YouTube channels, and my blogs as well as my clients, I study my niche closely and then I look for my niche audience on Reddit.

Now you may be thinking:

"Why Reddit?

Why put in the time to comment there and contribute information in a non-spammy way?"

You have to understand that a lot of bloggers and a lot of people who have TikTok channels or YouTube channels are also on Reddit.

When they see you offering legit information, especially involving tourism, you become a trusted resource depending on how you behave.

If you're just shilling your site, you're not gonna go anywhere.

Chances are, your comments will get deleted.

But if you're actually out there being a helpful resource person, eventually, your brand becomes a known quantity and people will want to interview you.

They would want to link to you.

There's a snowball effect. And this can all be done through Reddit commenting and YouTube video commenting.

These two go hand in hand.

Now keep in mind that this is not a one-shot-big-shot or one-time-big-time type of approach.

You have to be consistent.

You have to focus on the relationships that you are building and the people that you are helping.

Thanks for this, will definitely implement. I've noticed how highly Reddit and relating topics rank.

UPDATE #2 - been busy. waiting till I have a bit more capital to inject then will start implementing things like backlinks. This project is not a priority for me but that doesn't mean I wont be investing into it!

UPDATE #3 - this will bump the thread if anyone else is still interested.

Here's my current plan:

- Finish setting site up, index all pages, decide on a theme (lol), just optimizing all over. (Yes, unfortunately I'm a perfectionist)
- Post on Meta (IG + FB), drive traffic to site and also try sign up for FB Bonus scheme (get paid for engagements)
- Sign up for Google Publisher
- Generally, just post high quality articles, good content clusters and target low competition KWs.

I'll update you all again soon! Let's get to work! :D

Also, another long term idea is to setup an affiliate scheme for stays in the area. Create a aggregator of places to stay, hotels and luxury hotels, cabins, etc etc and take a small cut from any bookings.
