I'm using this trick to build and host my personal WordPress website for free.

This is only useful if you're fine with a static site. This is not for constantly updated blogs or news websites.

1. Download and install LocalWP

2. Create a local site with details you want

3. Install a block theme (Neve FSE, Twenty Twenty-five, or Spectra One, etc.)

4. Build your site using blocks and patterns using Gutenberg editor (Don't use plugins like Elementor as they are not static export friendly)

5. Install 'Simply Static' plugin and export your site to static.

6. Create an account on a static web host like Netlify, Cloudflare Pages, etc. and upload the downloaded ZIP file here.

7. Connect your custom domain to the website (Optional)

8. Voila! You'll be hosting a static site for free with unlimited bandwidth - with simplicity of building and managing it with WordPress.

9. If you want to update it, make changes in LocalWP, publish it and then export static ZIP using Simply Static plugin again.

10. Upload the ZIP and you just updated your site.

I use this because I publish articles every 1-2 weeks. Even if you publish 1 article a day, this is a good option.

Haha that's pretty cool, I wonder if it works with Insta

I'll have to try this out

I'm currently trying Studio by Automattic. This is similar to LocalWP but is open-source.
