    Hey guys,

    I am not sure if i am posting in the right forum. Anyway, today i installed VMWare 10.0.1 and the moment it got installed, i checked my Browsers and none of them were browsing anything and i thought my internet connection went down, but that wasn't the case! My Skype was working and i had a torrent downloading at that time wand that was going on normally!
    I then uninstalled VMWare and then checked my browsers and all of them were working fine. So i guess, i am doing something wrong. Can please someone help me here? I tried to find a solution on Google, but wasn't successful and even tried watching some Youtube videos regarding this. But not able to fix this.

    I too faced this problem, exact 2 days before and that too while I was browsing normally. The site won't load but everything else worked. Solution is to change your DNS server as 8.8.8.8 and Alternate DNS as 8.8.8.4 in Internet settings. It worked for me !

    Google's IPV6 is 8.8.8.8;
    Google's IPV4 is 8.8.4.4.

    There are many other resolvers.

    Your problem could come from a number of areas. The most common is NAT through your local computer rather than bridging your IP.

    I have found that VMWare has many problems. In most cases VirtualBox is a better solution. Remember - most - and not all.

    Wrong both those IP's are IPV4 and are for using Google Public DNS:

    IPv4 addresses
    • 8.8.8.8
    • 8.8.4.4
    IPv6 addresses[SUP][7][/SUP]
    • 2001:4860:4860::8888
    • 2001:4860:4860::8844

    I stand corrected. I was repeating from memory. Memory is not infallible when you are still under the influence of drugs the hospital injected you with the day before to stop a migraine.

    Depends on the application. You have to test it.

    I too told only about IPv4, as IPv6 is not used much in India.
