I have a site which had a link from a strong, trusted site which would give good link juice. But I have just noticed that the link takes the user to a 404 error page. Am I right in assuming that this means the bot will stop and about turn at this page? And if so,how can I get the 404 page to redirect to my homepage? I have tried using the redirect with my registrar but that wont work.
I have tried tiny urls etc too. Any ideas anyone as would be apprecated.

    Thanks

Log in to your cpanel, go to redirects, put 301 (permanent redirect) and the url you want to redirect to the new one.

I tried that but it comes back as "stack overflow" as its quite a long url. Tinyurl didnt work either.
