I am promoting affiliate products and i want to get concentrated traffic and maximize my sales.
Most of the people go for broad match-type. But i think that using broad keywords leads to untargetted traffic and low CTR.

What's ur opinion about it? Which one is best for affiliate products?

Exact keywords are generally costlier than broad keywords. Have you tried it? Did it work for you?

I use all 3. I pay peanuts for broad and I still sometimes get conversions, enough to make it worth it. Just make sure that you add the right negative keywords if you go with broad.

I didn't know that you could do adwords with affiliate marketing.

I pay $18 per conversion on average. With average markup being 4x, average order size being $100, so it ends up being worth it for me.

If you know which phrases will work for you, go for exact match. If you're not yet at that stage, go either phrase match or broad match to get exposure on a wider range of terms.

Once you see which are converting either keep it at broad and use negative keywords to filter out stuff that doesn't work, or go exact match with the stuff that does.

It can be costly starting out until you have found what does work, but once you have then you can keep narrowing down.

    OP:

Board match is a great way to waste money.

Phrase is good for FINDING good exact match keywords.

Exact match is where you make your money.

...and if you didn't know this already I suggest you read a couple books on Adwords. Perry Marshall wrote some amazing books on PPC. Read them before wasting cash.

It's hard to say when I can't see your account or know what you are promoting. If that is split into multiple campaigns or ad groups that make logical sense then it might be ok. If you have enough ads for your quality scores to be reasonable then, again, it might not be an issue.

The approach to AdWords is to start broad (could be broad match modifiers to make it a little more specific) in your approach and gradually hone in on more specific phrases.

Targeting more specifically will enable you to better tailor ads (and landers if you have control) to give you a better quality score and as a result a lower CPC.

1800 sounds like a lot to me though.

First add broad match, then check search terms and based on that add negative keywords and move high volume search terms to exact or phrase match.
