So I may have over looked something, but hopefully it's not an issue. My site's brand name contains one of my primary keywords that I'd like to target. Will this be an issue as far as Google is concerned because part of my linking strategy will likely consist of at least 40% branded anchor text?

I think you will be fine as long as the exact keyword is not above 10%

Thanks I actually came across a really well written article breaking everything down. It turns out that I shouldn't go more than 5-10% branded anchor text in my situation having the primary keyword in the name. Here's the article if anyone is interested and hasn't read it yet: https://www.gotchseo.com/anchor-text/

One good point they included in this article. Branded Anchor Text: 50%, Naked Links: 25%, Generic Anchors: 20%. I think, its a good strategy for building backlinks. Its LSI method. I am following and getting good result. :)

Yeah he did an awesome job writing that, easily could have sold that e-book. I just need to be careful because I'm using a short two word domain and one of the words is a primary keyword. So for me going more than 10% branded anchor text could be dangerous. Rather play it safe because you never know what Big G has in store for the future.

i also guess that there will not be any issue,, until you go beyond the keyword limit. on the other side,, it holds various credits too... but handle it carefully..
