Hi Guys This is my first proper post on BHW, so if I have put it in the wrong section, please let me know. I came across a new social style site yesterday which I think could be a little goldmine for those of you in the product sales space. The site is Wish (I am not involved with it in any way) and it looks to be in start-up phase. The essence is that members select products they are interested in buying and the site collates a Pinterest style personal wishlist for each user with their selections. Merchants are then able to make special offers to those users on the products they are interested in. It seems like this could be a potential goldmine for anyone in the merchandising space. It's a network of people telling merchants what they want to buy who are wanting to be advertised to about those product! I have only joined as a regular member so don't know exactly how it works for merchants as yet and the only way to join as a regular is with a FB login. It's nicely designed and does look very social and pinterest-esque. My initial thought is it would be very easy to start a wishlist and select a load of (your own) products as a regular member, have other FB accounts (again, your own accounts) select the same products, hopefully to create some buzz - and then go in as a merchant and make an offer. Even without a 'gaming' intention it could be a great way to get products out there and generate extra buzz. I read a couple of threads yesterday about Kindle e-book selling and they do have a book category, so it could be a useful extra marketing tool on that side too - when you click to add a product, the example is actually an Amazon link. I don't know whether it would support an affiliate link from a smaller site, but if so, that would be very useful. I am still playing around on the site and will update the thread if I have any further information. I couldn't see a mention of it anywhere else on BHW, but if I am late with this information, my apologies. Cheers all.
