There is this blog I used to compete with, my SEO strategy ofcourse was stronger than his so I tend to rank always above him but recently after the last Google update I noticed his site was hit but guess what? I started noticing a particular new site competing with me and overtaking me in SErps.

Then I did some research and discovered it is this same guy. He's using a new domain.
Apparently he bought a new domain and moved all the content from his old site to it.

Old domain: bloggingfix.com
New domain: rytbee.com

He's ranking like x3 above me right now.

And also after then, I got on a video call with one of my SEO friends whom I really respect because I see a lot of his pages ranking on Google and he seems to be very good with content link building and we talked about the recent google update and he said from his findings that brand new domains are the next big thing right now.

He says new domains and dominating Google search.
Also I read in a recent post here on Blackhatforum that someone moved all their content on the blog that was hit to another domain and rankings shoot up.

Do you think this recent update can be recovered by getting a new domain and moving your content there or probably a 301 redirect because that's my next level of action.

Your thoughts?

Moving to a new domain might offer a temporary boost, but Google could address this in their next update.

Maybe Google is trying to test out the ability of newer sites to engage and hold users.

And if they notice that the user metrics involve lesser bounce and more dwell time, they give them even better rankings boost.

Just a theory that popped into my mind.

I think it's like a fluctuation because recent algorithm affects using 301 redirection doesn't get much results as used for ranking purposes

I don't think this is long term, i also saw boost on some of my sites that were brand new, but that boost lasts for like month or so

I think Google ia giving new blogs a chance to ahow themselves before putting them on their place, would be temporary fs.

That's what everyone seem to be thinking and I'm getting along too. I think it's been like this since March or so? Isn't that too much of a time for testing? That's like 4 months testing phase.

I'm already looking into transitioning to Saas while still maintaining my niche. I run only a blog but from what I've been noticing Saas websites are overtaking everyone. In my opinion, Google is giving more light to website blogs offering a real service.

If theres a saas niche around your blog's niche why not, I've noticed this saas trend too, also LinkedIn pages are getting crazy rankings recently... weird era
