    (1) you DO NOT want to be like this boy... going to college by 8 years old, imagine how much work and pressure that must've been.

    (2) Being a genius isn't a golden ticket out of facing the harsh realities of life... we all face difficulties in different manners, be thankful for who you are (at least you didn't end up in the gutter of an African city, starving to death). There's only ONE of you.

I have to say is that he seems very well-balanced - hope he can put any skills he has to improving the world instead of just wasting away as many gifted people do.

The Average person in America watches about about 35 hours a week of tv,whereas he watches only about 4. Its somewhat impressive, but the media is making it seem like "OMFG how is that possible?"

Following the info here http://www.squidoo.com/raise-your-iq + not wasting your time, will allow you to achieve much more then what you currently are.

No need to be jealous. His life will more than likely be 100x better than your life. No offense.

How can you say that, just because he is getting a college degree doesn't mean he will be successful, his parents pushed him to get it. College isn't that hard if you actually spend the time studying instead of watching tv.

Sorry, but what do you know about me?

Anyways, I'm not here to make enemies. I was simply stating my opinion, the only obvious thing to do on a forum where open discussion is encouraged.

BTW, how many highly educated people do you know? I'm really curious as to what you're basing your information off.

Ignorance is bliss and that's why being around his age is so fun. But now that's gone and he has nobody close to him that he can relate with, that is of course until the x men academy opens back up.All jokes aside, he is "Tony Stark".

he is what he is. let's wait and see.
But knowing the greed of today's world he will probably get bought by some big company and he will be exploited there with all he's geniusness used by stupid yet manipulative people for getting money.
I wish he reads little less books and living life little more

I really hope it is but unfortunately being in the upper echelons of intelligence is a lonely and very frustrating place.

Most professors only have IQ's of 130-150 so what you have to understand is when you're in the 170+, even 160+ range you won't have many people who understand you. People think everyone in the academic community is genius level, but most are very far from it.

What tends to happen is both your mind, your reasoning and your work is vastly misunderstood. The more intelligent you are the worse this is. 160-180 is ok, you can function in the academic world at this level and produce good work. 180+ is VERY difficult, you tend to find the 180+ people just avoid mainstream academia completely and find it "childish". To them needing stupid titles like "Ph.D" to prove anything is silly.

If people this intelligent get too focused on logic they can get very frustrated. Their only route to happiness is to rise above logic and become more spiritual because it's only there that you can see the world for what it is.

Very few see the world from a spiritual/enlightened point of view, but for someone of normal to high intelligence it's not really an issue because they *are* the world, but for someone with an IQ above 180+ the world is foreign to them.

Einstein wasn't in this range btw, that's why he was so successful. He was able to tap into something that many of us recognize in business and call 'reality creation'. He could tap into a creative source that others couldn't and that's why he was able to do what he did. His raw intelligence wasn't super high though.

We all have access to the same thing Einstein tapped into. It's when ideas just "flow" and things just come to you when you're relaxing. So the best and most important type of "intelligence" is available to us all no matter what our paper IQ is. :)

    @Blueturtle

Einstein never took an IQ test, some persons have tried to estimate that it might have been in the 160-180 range, but that he could have had an IQ of lower then 160 or higher then 180.

The kids IQ is never mentioned in the article,He may be a genius or he may just be a little above normal, just his parents are forcing him to study alot.

    Einstein's IQ definitely wasn't lower than 160, but what I mean is he didn't have a 190-210 IQ :)

You can estimate someone's IQ from their work and their life when it's very well known like Einstein's.

People with IQ's above 180 tend to be VERY fast/sharp. Einstein wasn't fast/sharp like that. He had certain revelations about the nature of the universe while 'meditating', or 'thinking' quietly.

His IQ wouldn't be below 160 though. You wouldn't be able to produce the theories he produced if it were.
