Hey guys,

Bought my first expired domain a few days ago.
I bought it via direct payment in GoDaddy.

I have already called GoDaddy and asked again if I really get the domain. They said it can of course happen that the owner extends the page again, but he has not reacted for so long, that would be really unlikely.

The domain I purchased about 14 days ago and is apparently(?) still in the Grace Time. What I find funny, the page is still online and still extends the content.

When I look in via Who-IS, it was updated a few months ago and is supposedly not due to expire until 2023.
I really want the site, don't want to get a refund. Did someone make a mistake there?

What do you guys think?

You will not get the domain, not after 14 days. Standard period is up to 7 days. Anything taking longer than that I would write off.

I must have won thousands of domains on Godaddy, but I have never had a situation like yours, so you got really "lucky".

Of course, sometimes after the payment, the domain gets renewed during the grace period, but this happens maybe with 1% of the domains.

All in all, tell GD to refund you. Your best bet.

This page would be a 6 in the lottery.
A money site with 100,000 traffic and still actively selling + writing content until the end.

Thought me already that there must be something in the bush :D

100,000 traffic? I wonder how much it cost you to purchase it. Anyways, request a full refund if you don't get it.

The domain had that much traffic and you tried to snipe it during the grace period?

The pricing was a joke - a no brainer.
Even with Google Adwords i would get the price back in a few days.
honestly i not want the money back, will pay the 10x amount for this page :D

The Domain was in GoDaddy auction for a cheap price for a direct payment. Checked Ahrefs and bought directly.
Ofc, otherwise maybe someone else get it.
To be honest, I didn't know that domains are already sold, although the owner can still extend them for a few weeks. I only learned about this from GoDaddy while I called them.

____

I consulted with GoDaddy again and they said I have to be patient for a few more days. Let's see. The man on the phone also said it's funny that the page is still online.
I find the whole thing anyway suspicious, because the page was extended according to Whois a few months ago. Why the fuck i could buy it there(?). If the owner has sold the domain at that price he is an absolute moron.
With his service he could do this money every day.
