Correct me if I am wrong but Isnt the whole point of KW research is to use [EXACT] because you are trying to rank for that EXACT kw??

I purchased a keyword research gig on my clients website and got back the folloing..

The data that I got back had LOCAL results with very high numbers. SO I went to adwords and searched them myself.

All the LOCAL numbers that my report shows are for BROAD and not EXACT searches.

Buying KW research is always retarded. If its a good KW, they will use it themselves.

Nah its not a money making keyword for adsense.. Its for a client. I wanted to outsource his kw research to find out better keywords to rank him for.

Yes you should always use exact if you're trying to rank for that exact term. That's a pretty bad gig ;-)

    Hey CosmicSoundz,

Go to ubersuggest.org and check the results for your keyphrase. No, you should not be getting anything other than exact, you got your money taken on this one most likely. No worries I am here to help you get your money back.

What an absolute joke. I've never bought a Fiverr gig I've been happy with. It's $5 down the drain everytime.

    This is his reply....

Local search is done using Broad to give you an idea of the traffic in that specific region. [exact] keyword research is done for more broad related terms; so if the term was "general contractor" [exact], in broad it would just be "general contractor + location" -- so in your case "general contractor + philadelphia". If you believe this to be in error, I am requesting a cancellation so you receive a refund but we know what we're doing with the keyword research. Local research has to be performed this way because "general contractors" is a local business and not an online service. Your cities are not big enough to have such high search data in [exact] (such as LA, Miami etc) and even those have limited search volume because in reality, not many people would search for "general contractor Miami" -- they'd search for "general contractor" from Miami and Google would automatically show them the closest / top SEO'd LOCAL results for their query.

Broad results have some applications when gathering data for Adwords campaigns, but yeah, if talking about KWs you want to rank for, you always want [exact] volume search data.

I know kw research myself. When you are involved with so many things as I am it actually costs me more money to do it myself than it does for me to outsource. Time is money my friend. I have more important things to do with my time that generate lots of money.

I would not pay on Fiverr for this. I use UNF for my keyword research. So far so good.

I have never used Fiverr for a keyword gig and I wouldn't recommend it so people can just make a little money on the side. I have always researched my own keywords with Google Trends and try to match a EMD to the trends at the time so I can rank for some good traffic and make a quick buck then repeat.

Would be best if you could learn keyword research on your own. There's lots of tutorials on that online. From videos to articles. Just need to spend time reading that's all. =P

IMHO...The point of keyword research is two fold.... 1/ find which keywords that will generate traffic to you while building niche authority..... 2/ rank for those keywords... so unless you already know how your target visitors are searching for what you have or youre running an orm or some specialized campaign with a short term lifecycle... its would seem wise to evaluate exact match, lsi and long tail results in your keyword research... and from that determine which ones will bring the right kind of vistors to your pages at minimum cost...
