Hostgator will provide you maybe 2 Nameservers. Now, login to your namecheap account, view your domains, click the domain you want to host it at hostgator, then on the left side click "Domain Nameserver Setup", then choose "Specify Custom DNS Servers ( Your own DNS Servers )" and fill the nameservers from Hostgator. Don't forget to click "save changes". That's it :)

It is very easy, You have to just change Name server details in your Namecheap account. The name server details that is given by hostgator to you.

bangkai's step by step suggestion is really useful. You should follow them. bangkai thanks to share such systematic solution of described problem.

Why do you want to write that up here?

His domain is on namecheap, and his hosting is at Hostgator. So keep your mouth shut. If someone is looking for an alternative for his hosting, spread 'Hostwinds' there.

Just adjust dns in your namecheap Account to redirect to the ip of your hostgator Account.
