Boosey's Offline Advertising Day #1

Alright guys, it's 8:30AM here, i'm gettin my ass up and taking a shower here in a bit...

To all: I redid my website yesterday, made it look more professional..

Today I am going to do some offline advertising, to see how it folds out... Yesterday I did it with Pizza delivery, and I got about 4 more US Referrals overnight, so I'm positive that's what they're from!!!

I'm going to Lansing, MI (college party town, MSU) at about 1:00PM, and i'm handing out 800 flyers to 8 different Apartment communities, for them to put in move-in packets...

My friend Ethan, his GF, his mom, my mom, and myself are all dropping off flyers in front of peoples doors at 6 of the apartment complex's (because the other 2 have private outside entrances).... and we're (door-knobbing) the other 2 complex's.... so we'll probably go through about 3000 flyers there....

Ethan's Mom is going up to (my hometown) and she's dropping off 200 flyers at G's Pizzeria (big pizza place in that town), and they're passing them out for $30.00 ....

I'm gonna stay at my moms tonight (in Lansing), and in the morning, hit the campus!!! I figured i'd walk it, with ethan and his gf.... and we could hit a few coffee shops, book stores, parking lots... etc...

on our way back to Canton, we're stopping by Ann arbor to hit the whole college campus.... just anything we can find!!!.....

I'm gonna go through about 4500 flyers, so I gotta call them in right now.... and for a $360 investment (at .08 per flyer), i'm pretty sure i'll make my money back!!!

Anybody know where I can get flyer's made for cheaper than ($.08) ??

Have you checked Staples and Office Max?

Office Max is doing it for $.08 a flyer..... I was thinking it'd be cheaper.... guess not?!

Basically it's pretty simple.... just with tear off tags at the bottom...

The only thing that sucks is all the rip-off tags at the bottom have to be hand cut before we put them out....

Sign up for the Office Max "Max Perks" club when you are in the store. Once you are on their mailing list you will get coupons in the mail all the time. I think I get 30% Off Copy Center coupons all the time. Do the same for Staples and Office Depot and join their online newsletters also. I just used an email $25 coupon at Staples last week.

About every 6 weeks Office Max sends me a "$10 off a $10 purchase" which is basically a $10 gift certificate, even if I haven't bought anything recently.

this the same flyer you gave the pizza guy?

You should use a VOIP number or GrandCentral instead of handing out your own number. Not only does this protect your identity but like you mentioned, they won't be too happy and you might receive a few calls at 3 in the morning telling you to go fuck yourself.

Good luck, offline CPA marketing is undertapped so it'll be interesting to see how it goes.

Isnt your goal to make a profit though, not just get your money back?

I totally wouldn't have put my number on it. See if you can find a small mom & pop type copy shop for your next batch of fliers. They might cut you a better deal (economy & all) or knock off some money if you pay with cash. Good luck!

FYI you can get 5000 4x6 full color both sides glossy 16pt postcards and make them look super cool for less than $100 these days if shop around online

Also, try putting your message on each flyer twice and then cut the flyers in half. That'll get your costs down to .04 per flyer and still get your message across...

used them for about 3years now, great service, great prices...

vistaprint sucks... although if you have an affiliate kickback from CJ you could probably earn $$$ each time you order some

You think this would work for a continuity website in the 'make money online' niche. With the recession and media frenzy it could be a good time perhaps?

Something priced cheaply at perhaps $9.99 a month.. ?

boosey i know your using flyers but i use postcards for the same thing your doing there real nice high glossy postcards i get them printed from these guys hxxp://willywalt.c0m i get 10,000 4x6 for $250

For cheap printing in black n white, you can buy a cheap samsung laser printer for about $80, which comes with half full toner allowing you to print about 1.5k flyers, then u just get a toner refill kit for about $15 which will give you another 4k+ flyers from it
