Yes you can get into trouble for doing this.

Best advice would be to go with a host that is based in a country which they are not illegal or dont do it

I got a VPS in Panama getting setup thought id ask

But I registered the domain locally with whois protection now I am kicking myself wondering if ICANN would reveal the Registar to law enforcement and then the register would show me CC!!!

Unless I move the domain and say I sold it or gave it away?

Sorry to tell you this but I would stop that immediately. Yes it sounds illegal and if it can be proven you knew about this activity then you would be complicit. Not worth it in my opinion. These people will not give a sh*t about you when the hammer falls.

guess is hard to maintain gd forum nowadays. spammers tend to seek chance for which ever popular forums.

to all those saying its illegal how do you explain the 100's of other websites/forums with steroids advertising??

I can name as many as you like that have IP addresses in the US, all have domain privacy enabled. They have all been online advertising since 2002 and before

NEVER have they had a problem as I have been a member of a ton of them.

let me know if you want me to name names

eh, steroids are illegal here in the US. Those sites are probably selling generic steroids.

well if a site is hosted in another country and has advertisers that sell steroids... what does that have to do with the US laws? The site is technically IN another country..

    I dont get it?

You gave the answer yourself... so long as its offshore.

Move your server or forum to Neverland.

    Good luck!

sure... but what if the domain was registered in the US and the owner of the domain lives in the US?

cant the US just get the "whois" data even with privacy protection enabled.
