I'm using blogspot for my blog and I was wondering what was best to use in SEO for a foreign blog.

    .blogspot.com - .blogspot.nl

The .com automatically redirects to .nl for me, but probably not everyone else. And because it's a dutch blog the .nl domain seems to fit better and will probably rank better?

I've been doing some SEO now with .nl domain, but I've yet to show up in the SERP for an easy to rank keyword in the first 8 pages. Am I doing something wrong here? Should I advertise the .com domain, or can it sometimes take more than 4 days to be indexed?

I wanted to try a technique listed on this site, 10 articles to high PR blogs/article dir. Then +- 30 high PR bookmarks (and still working on the next steps). I pinged all those sites and my blog. But nothing is showing up.

Anyone able to help me please?

    Hi Piree,

If you are serious about SEO and stuck on using the blogspot platform I would highly recommend considering purchasing your own custom domain through Google. Go to your blogspot blog dashboard and click Settings>Basic>Publishing etc. It costs $10 to get the name and have it hosted for a year. Also once you get your custom domain name be sure to name all the new pages you build out with the keywords you are focusing on. You sound like you are dedicated to SEO so keep up the good work and let us know which SEO methods you are finding to work best for you. Its usually a different road for everyone. If its a Dutch blog a Dutch extension will surely make the most sense especially if you do not plan on having an American or general business audience. Getting rid of the blogspot extension is the real key however and then your SEO path will be smoother to the top.

That's not true at all. I have done split testing building and ranking sites on both wordpress and blogspot blogs and see no problems whatsoever with ranking them both around the same times. Of course ranking is dependent on a considerable amount of variables such as; competition, global monthly searches, domain, keyword density, backlinks, etc...

what i hate most to do seo with a blogspot is that it duplicates page title and description across the pages. and thank God the url slug can now be customized for each post and not automatically generated..

    Thank you all for replying.

I'm used to blogspot, have used it a long time ago and had good results with it back then. With WP I have no clue what I'm doing. I also have no idea what the advantage of ranking in Alexa is, I just need to show up high on the SERP, and with blogspot I've already been #2 in the results. So it can't be that bad?

Thanks for that, I applied it for .nl, so now everything redirects to blogspot.nl. But will this cause a problem with my already established backlinks? I did redirect them to the .nl domain, but sometimes when I search up information on the domain and use .nl it gives error that it's being redirected or something.

I'm planning on buying a domain after I get my first paycheck, I want to start with no investment. This also means I got no scrapebox or GSA (altho I did try the free 5 days, wasn't convinced, out of 500 comments/bookmarks only 3 are real). I really have no idea which programs are best for my method, slow but steady ranking. But after I get my paycheck from Adsense, which I hope is the start of next year, I'll be able to buy some stuff.

How do you mean it duplicates the title and description? When I click on a page/post I only get to see the title of that page/post. I did remember that it was good to always have your blog title show up. eg. Blog Title - Post Title. Did something change that this is not the case anymore?

Also, I'm now, for the first time, using the dynamic template. Can it also be this that is preventing me from being indexed? Is it bad for SEO? I thought it'd be good since Blogger = Google and they like their blogs on top of the SERP?
