Great site, helpled me a lot on the BH stuff more but having read some stuff need to get my own blog sorted.

We are in the real estate business and although we post on a blogger site we do not have a blog located on our own site. I have read that much stuff about RSS feeds I am totally stuck what to do next.

    so

    1) Should I host my own blog on my own website?
    2) How does the RSS thing work
    3) Any help welcomed and THANKS will be recorded on this forum...

Yes host your own, it will be a little tough at first but you will get the hang of it. Like everything in SEO it just takes practice. I wish you the best of luck :)

Host on your own site, and also don't get too deep into using black hat methods. You need to focus on white hat when you are new, especially if your site is something that you care about and or depend on!

Black hat won't "hurt" your business per-say but you would be far better served not skipping the basics of white hat seo.

Yes, host on your own domain - better for SEO and branding, plus it's much more professional. I believe you can import the contents of a Blogger blog into Wordpress.

Use Wordpress for your own self-hosted blog, it's the easiest for beginners and there are tons of free resources available.

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and it's a specially formatted XML file that contains your latest posts. It's updated and published automatically by Wordpress every time you make a new post. People can add your RSS feed url in their RSS feed reader of choice and it's a way for them to easily see when you've updated your blog, thus helping to drive a steady stream of traffic to your blog. It also helps you with getting your site spidered and indexed by search engine bots. Don't worry about it too much - if you use Wordpress, it will be taken care of automagically.
