Hey everyone

New year, new journey, right ? Well, not really.. Bought a fresh domain and started this niche site the 25th of November, so it's been a little over 1 month. I'm a little ahead, I have some content already that's live on the serp, even tho the site is still in his early stage.

That's not my first IM project, I've done a lot of things before, lot of failures, and finally had success in the well known dropshipping business with Facebook and Google ads (close to 6 figs). Moving away from these business models tho, looking for something more sustainable, and also looking for that real passive bread.

THE PLAN
So I will document the whole journey about my niche site, hopefully it can help and inspire others people to take action! The goal is to hit the 1000$/month mark. I plan to monetize this site through Ezoic, affiliates products, and maybe e-books.

Keep in mind that this niche is seasonal. It gets low in winter and spike in mid summer.

I'll post weekly update about the progression in Words Counts and Google Search Console.

WHAT I'VE DONE
  1. Push 86 posts
  2. Finished the whole site
  3. Plan keyword for the month of January

HOW I OPERATE
Content creation:
  • I create all the content by myself, I already make some money online doing some freelancing stuff and small business, so I have a lot of free time
  • My bare minimum is 2 articles / day. When I feel like it, I can publish up to 6 articles in one day (yeah I'm going hard on this)

Strategy:
  • Targeting low comp low volume keywords that have bad SEO serp results (user-generated content, forums, quora on first page ...)
  • Pushing 900-ish words article targeting those keywords. Sometimes I do more, I have articles of almost 2000 words, and others that are at 700 words.

Keyword Research:
  • I manually look for keywords (using Google autocomplete query and KeywordEverywhere) that are low volume and low competition, that means I'm looking for those low quality Serp Result (User-generated content, forums posts, quora, Pinterest, on first page.)
  • I usually plan the keywords for the whole ahead. Here's what my keyword tracking sheet look like:

Result (1st January 2021):

Feel free to ask any question about the journey!

What is your average post size?

Your strategy is good. First rank for loa quality and then go to medium and then go to hard. It will be best. Same i do.
Nice! How is it be going for you? My average is 950 words :)

ANy backlinks something?
Nope, going hard on low comp kw, not forcing off-seo for the moment

how you are going to pass google sandbox?
Pushing content for 6 months straight might get me out pretty easily, just need to let the site age a bit, since it's new domain!

So when you plan keywords ahead for the whole month do you try and write one article per keyword or do you try and hit a few different keywords in one article?

Yeah, I plan keyword for the next 2 weeks, or even the whole month. 1 keyword for 1 article, then, I'll do interlinking for close subject

That is very good to know thanks. I have been spending the last few weeks researching interlinking a new site and it seems more time consuming than super duper high tech , which was good news for my current skill set. Any tips or thoughts on how you're thinking about doing your interlinking?

Thanks

Unreal start hitting 100 posts already.

I started my first site a couple of days after you but no where near that post count!

All the best, looking forward to seeing your updates and hoping to learn a thing or two from you.
