Let me introduce myself. My name is jeff. I have been a lurker here in BHW for more than a year now. Read a lot of Journey thread. Last year I tried IM, spend some cash to buy a hosting, domain names, articles. I even spent cash in pre-made site but I did not have any luck all the site I did failed. So now I am broke.

Since I don't have some cash to spend. I will be using blogger to do affiliate marketing. I will be using amazon affiliate for monetization.

I created this thread to seek help on my journey.

Right now I am on keyword research phase.

I need honest opinions on the keyword that I will be using. It is in the electronics category.

What do you think of the competition? Can I rank my keyword without any difficulty?

Without "any difficulty"? Those are all the biggest players out there you're against....

Just a heads up though, blogger will delete your blog sooner or later. Happened to me twice. It is "marked as spam" even though all of the articles are unique and 500 words minimum.

Thanks for the headsup. Let's see. If blogger will delete my blog then I will buy a domain and hosting. Since I am on Keyword research stage. I may still be able to save up for domain and hosting.

That looks better. All three of them are worth investigating further. Run the keywords through Keyword Revealer (it's a free site). It will give you a difficulty rating for the keywords. If it says "low" or "very low" then I think you should go for it. Best of luck.

Do you use Google as your main traffic source in making money with Amazon?

My advice for you, take advantage of hawkhost.com discount ending 1 July, 2014. You can buy 1 year hosting for $11.89 or something.
One year is enough to test out. Also you can grab domain from godaddy from $0.99 to $4 (including privacy)

Don't use Blogger, your hard work can be deleted within minutes.

try to use some social traffic to generate some fast cash - so you can get some hosting / domain and WP Site

Blogger really is not a long term solution and if your blogger gets deleted it can be a real body blow.

BOL and remember everyone has to start somewhere.

Yes, I did what djw1606 suggested and i found out that kw1 and kw3 have moderate competition and kw2 have low competition.

I will take your suggestion. Thanks Danny1111

Don't know what sort of keyword research you're doing, but IMO you might be approaching this from the wrong direction. Here's what I suggest you do.

Think in terms of building an authority niche site. As for what niche, I would go for things that women are more likely to buy since they spend more money online than men (men spend on higher ticket items but those will also have more competition). By focusing on a niche that women will buy, you'll also be able to leverage pinterest as a way to generate some traffic to your site. So think in terms of womens clothing etc and especially kids products. Along with that though, you could think in terms of household items, bedding, kitchen type items, decorating etc. All the sorts of things women spend a hell of a lot of time looking for and purchasing. I just sort of grabbed something so I could use it as an example but have no idea if it would be feasible or not. "Bath Toys".

Go on amazon and just start browsing different categories and drill down until you find a niche that has plenty of products with a wide range of prices. At this point you can start doing keyword research to find a boatload of search terms and related searches (ubersuggest.org). Your site should be focused around a 2-3 word niche phrase but it's not all that important that you can rank for it as your traffic will come mostly from long tail search terms. As your site ages and actually becomes an "authority", you will start to rank better for that phrase. Spend a hell of a lot of time on figuring all of this out. Alongside your regular keyword tools, also use merchantwords.com to help figure out what's good and what isn't.

When doing the keyword research, look for common prefixes and suffixes etc that could make up your categories. So for example, you could have "Bath Toys For Toddlers", "Bath Toys For Boys", "Bath Toys For Girls". Ideally you would build your site in a silo structure.

Side note. While just doing some quick searches for the bath toys stuff I did run accross some guys in that niche. lol

Now that you have an idea of the basic structure, you want to plan out all the categories fully and start coming up with a list of articles along side the product review pages you'll do. Simple ones are "Best bath toys for toddlers under $10". I also saw a search for "How to clean bath toys" and "Best way to store bath toys". "Best", "Top", putting 2014 at the end, all help create unique titles that people actually search for. You probably want at least 5 "categories", although you should shoot for 10-15, and then plenty of reviews and articles for all of them. By the time you're done the planning stage, you're going to want to have 100-150 or so article and review "titles" (spread across the categories) already done and laid out for yourself ahead of time. And don't forget various holidays, birthdays, aniversaries etc and make sure you come up with some ideas for those sorts of things as well and that you get articles/reviews done in plenty of time (to get ranked) to take advantage of those times of year.

It's pretty important to do that sort of detailed work up front as you'll get a much better feeling as to whether or not your niche is going to be feasible or not. As you do that sort of detailed work you'll find some real nuggets and come up with your own ideas for phrases as well. But the most important thing is that you'll be able to then spend your time implementing instead of floundering around wondering what you should be doing next.

"Launch" the site with maybe 3 categories and 5 articles/reviews in each and then just keep adding at least 1 article/review per day, ideally 2 per day for maybe a month and then drop down to 1 a day. Spend 2-3 days a week doing 7 articles/reviews and then just schedule them to come out daily etc. The rest of your time can be spent doing a bit of SEO work, facebook, twitter, pinterest etc and also planning and starting the next site.

After the first month or so, you should also seriously consider setting up an email list for the site so you can then also expand to doing email marketing to people even if it's just sending them an email saying "just added a review for xxxx here". You could figure out some sort of little ebook related to the niche that you could write and give away to get them to signup. You should also be able to come up with ideas for other products you could market to them that are somewhat related to the niche.

There was a pretty good thread about amazon but I'm not sure if this was the one I was thinking about. It's still good though.
    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...hod-making-500-day-through-amazon-newbie.html

And this one is pretty good for keyword research.
    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...diot-proof-guide-authority-site-building.html

I see Danny1111 dropped in here. He tends to drop into amazon related threads. Here's a couple of his Q/A threads about amazon.
    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/446920-amazon-success-300-day-yesterday.html
    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ultimate-amazon-thread-mark-2-q-good-bad.html

So can this sort of thing really work? Of course. There was a guy that knew absolutely nothing about IM, joined one of the online "schools" out there where they pretty much teach you to do this sort of thing. He worked pretty hard at it (I think he had a job as well) and after about 3-4 months he had something like 90+ articles/reviews on his site and was already making somewhere around $900 a month from amazon from just 1 site. And as I said, he knew absolutely nothing going in.

If you truly can't come up with the money for hosting and a domain, PM me and I'll let you know of a site you can join where you can get something like blogger/wordpress sites to get started for free. However. You REALLY should get your own domain and hosting since you'll be putting all this work into building an authority site. I think there's a code you can use for hostgator where you can get the first month for a penny and then you'd need to come up with $11 or so for a domain.

    Good luck to you.

I thank you so much for your advise. I am now back to my drawing board, re-doing my plans. A well master planned approach is the key to my success on this journey. I will no longer be using blogger for this journey. I have included buying hosting and domain for this journey.

    Update

Alrighty, I am stuck to keyword research. To OldFatGuy or anyone who could answer my question.
So I take a look at what women wants to buy. I scanned the whole amazon site. Lets take this one as an example, In the Beauty Category there are sub category of makeup, skin care, hair care, perfume and cologne and tools & accessories. If we take a look in to tools & accessories there are more sub category. If for example I go deeper into those category there is a hair dryers. For this "Hair Dryers" will be my keyword then my long tail keywords can be "hair dryers for normal hairs", "Hair Dryers under $50", Hair Dryers under $20", "shine enhancing hair dryers". Is this right?

Or if I want a bigger authority site I can go for a keyword like "Hair styling tools" then I can go for sub-keywords or category like "hair dryers" "curling iron", "brushes & combs" and then have a longtail keywords for each of the sub category like "curling iron for hair with colors" and so on...
