Hi everyone, I'm trying to install Blog Solution 3 on the server and it is saying:

Creating default templates, cache directories, system files, getting icecream ingredients, cooking chocolate.. and just stuck there not going anywhere.

Does anyone know what to do from here? Is it the cron jobs that needed to be set? If so, what is it? Thanx in advance

cron job is automated excutions, can be used for both updating and pinging your blogsolution blogs. wich is recommended to do like once per day (both of them)

As I posted in your thread on a similar issue, you may get a better response here:
    http://www.halfagain.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=6

BTW, your hosting config may not be compatible. So far godaddy & Yahoo hosting are listed as incompatible with blogsolution.

so far I have installed it successfully using the video tutorial. Now here is the deal. I don't have too much money so before I actually bought the BS I bought a domain name eg: www.example.org now after I've purchased this BS it stated that I need to upload the BS to my domain and it must not have any website in there. Which I've done successfully. My question is since now the BS have taken my domain that I just bought, How do I go about posting up my money site? Do I just buy another one with a whole different hosting company? Or is there still away to co use the domain to put up the money site with the BS on the same domain? The reason for this question is because I'm getting strapped and may not be able to afford to use my credit card to buy more domain.

p.s. If the answer is yes I have to buy a whole new domain with whole new host. May I use the free hosting somewhere for moneysite? thanx please help.

Why not take your query to the proper forum, which I posted above? Or to appropriate support channels, since you've purchased this product?

Edit: I found the proper support channels and information via simple research, since I don't know anything about the product and you don't seem to know how to use a search engine.

Signal-to-noise ratio seems quite low here. I feel like I'm posting to a radio ... tuned to a single channel.

you need to get another hosting account for your money site. nothing else will run properly on a BS domain.

And might want to add that with Blog Solution... a lot of the time if it isn't working it has something to do with the hosting company you are with.

I talked with the software developers and he says that is the most common problem.

Ashley, I think you can install BlogSolution on a subdomain but perhaps that isn't a good idea.

Or you could install BlogSolution in the main domain and put your sites on subdomains.

Ie BlogSolution is on mysite.com and different batches of blogs from that one install could send traffic to acne.mysite.com and vitamins.mysite com etc. You can probably have unlimited subdomains.

Now there are two schools of thought here. Some people put a Wordpress blog on mydomain.com and link from there to subdomains or folders

So you have a blog called "health news" on the main domain updating with news and rss feeds. It sends visitors to mens-health.mydomain.com and womens-health.mydomain com and living-well.mydomain.com

Other people say that your blog should be on a different IP address from the site or it looks like you are promoting yourself.

What the heck. Do what you can afford to do. Go with subdomains.

Ashley, is your program kosher (not nulled warez)?

Different hosts have different problems. I bought dirt cheap hosting on Dreamhost. BlogSolution have made a special .htaccess file to work there.

However the LSA linkage doesn't seem to work with that host.

Hosts can be a bitch. fopen working or not. Zend installed or not, chmod 777 allowed or not. Safe mode on or off.

HostGator are pretty good and dirt cheap as long as you don't overload their servers.

I advise you to be careful. You can easily set BlogSolution to make 1000 or 10,000 blogs updating several times a day but that might be a strain on a dedicated server let alone a butget hosting account.

You should ping with proxies. I get fresh proxies by running Xrumer and refreshing the proxy list. If you want pm me and I will send you a list of proxies.

Firstly the files must be uploaded to the server with your FTP program set to binary. I use winSCP http://winscp.net/eng/index.php (Great program and it is free)

Then you chmod the files and folders as per the directions.
Then you go into cpanel and create a database.
Go to the blogsolution set up page and tell it the database.
    Program is installed.

Now here is the part you are having trouble with:
On the "operations center" page there are three places where it says "Important notes! Please click here"
When you click there it will show you the string to copy and paste into the cron section of your host cpanel

There are three crons. One to grow the number of blogs, one to post and one to ping. Set the aggregate (post) and the ping crons to work every hour of every day.

Set the one that one that releases new blogs from your list to run once a day or once a week or whatever,

Now back in blogsolution click settings at the top of the page.

On the settings page tell it to run the aggregation and ping cron to run at random times. Say, post two times a day and ping once.

Here is something that I didn't know about until I read it by accident in the blogsolution forum.
Go to http://mm.theblogsolution.com/ and input your serial number.
That page will show ALL your blogsolution installs even if you have many installs on different hosting accounts. This is great.

If you have a new site to promote you can add the link to every blog you have with one click. Neat eh?

Great information on Blogsolution set up. The main issue that I've found is with the hosting. You need to spread your BS hosting around to minimize disruption when a host finds you using too much system resources. Can we get some more information on hosts that allow BS?
