Does anyone know a reliable blog script without using database? And which web hosting companies is reliable enough to host a blog. I prefer using virtual private server hosting.

    Thanks

    Blog Without Database?

That will be hard to find and if you do it is prolly a piece.

I would recommend if you thinking about building mass blogs quickly... to get Wordpress Super Installer... it creates the databases and all so you don't gotta do it... you can even upload plugins from the WSI insterface and choose the templates and select random template choosing as well.

Blogging without a database is possible with PHP. Make your content section a seperate page that gets included into the final mix. Then, when you make a new post, just have your script append that content page.

In order to be able to link to each blog post seperately (like most blogs do), you will need to modify your .htaccess to reformat the HTTP requests so they go to the right place.

Or you could do what Illuminary said. ;)

Oh, and pretty much any hosting will accomodate a blog structure.

It's late and I'm not going to do your homework for you but go check out hotscripts.com - I've seen some so called "light weight" flat file based blog scripts there.

The permissions issues and problems down the road make using just wordpress or wordpress MU easier in the long run though. Plus you get all those extra goodies like the xml-rpc libraries, pinging, comments, etc... all done for you. It's sort of like someone promoting your site for you while you post.

If your going to blog - use wordpress.... or even b2evolution (it's a pain in the rear, but it seems to rank better than WP for me at least.)

Thank you all but my hosting company is really damn b*stard. Previously i'm using WP and of course we have to create database. After a week or so, it started all those funny error that got to do with database which i than email the support for help. So far no luck at all??? That hosting company is Dot5hos*ting.com

Any idea of this company, you guys???.Next time i'm thinking of getting a virtual private server hosting which is better than shared hosting.

I'm thinking I'd just ditch the problem host. If they can't conform to basic standards then they aren't really doing their job. A VPS is great if you need the power, but you might only need a reseller account if you're planning on multiple sites.
