Blog on Movie Site. Good for SEO?

Yes, It is Good. But From what I know streaming movie niche is heavily interrupted by google. It always only shows me 10-20 results in two pages.

You can try ranking for old movies but for new movies I am not sure.
 
better to match the search intent,
most of the movie sites don't have any decent blogs,
but you can surely add one if you have a set of keywords in which articles do fit the search intent
 
Instead of the streaming one, I think it would be more successful if you can have skill to make a content-driven and related to movies. So, if you're thinking about it, go further and try it.

Of course it is a good strategy to enhance SEO and attract more people interested in your Niche, but just make sure the movies fit well with your content and are interesting to your audience

Also make sure that you don't get DMCA complaints and your blogs get removed. Most of the movie blogs to refer to the pages where movies are with various methods so that the blog traffic is not affected by the DMCA. You can review your successful competitors and see what they are doing.

It's a very good idea and IMO it should give you a slight edge over your competitors! Try to make content around movies/reviews/Artist profiles as these mostly have a lot of traffic and interlink with movie streaming pages to pass authority!
