    Hi Guys,

In the past i have always just knocked up a basic 1 page landing page for IM just the standard types kinda thing, i just recently started messing around with blogs (wordpress) i put one up in an old domain and messed about, i noticed when you update your posts they get pinged to the search engines which is pretty nifty so basically...

should i use wordpress blogs for all my landing pages in future? is there any advantages over blogs as opposed to basic landing pages?

i know the blogs are more SEO friendly and have a load of plugins.

    thanks for any advice guys

    Graham

Yes, blogs are preferred over normal landing pages as they can really increase ur rankings in SE's as they are 10x more SEO friendly than normal landing pages Example: Wordpress has Tags and Categories which can get u a very high ranking in SE's. I'm telling u this from my personal experience.

Also, ppl may say that creating a landing page in Wordpress is much difficult but I don't agree to this...if you know the basics ie HTML and PHP, you can easily create good landing pages with Wordpress.

    Example:

    Code:
    http://www.wordpresscommentspammer.com
    (Yes, that's mine.)

if its a static page wont it eventually fall down the rankings? this is what i dont understand as i thought that blogs will consistently rank high when you always update content, this wont be the case if its static will it? could someone please clear this up for me? thnx

Landing pages also provide you the ability to add a lot of articles while displaying a static first page as your lander, SEs like big and fresh sites more than a 1 page never updated lander.

I myself run a content creation and SEO company, i believe that if you get your landing pages designed on word press or any other seo friendly blog, you would be ranked much higher in google. As mentioned earlier in the thread, the meta tags etc which you can insert in to every article, it is much more search engine friendly.

Secondly, a landing page which involves a blog is much more attractive to the visitors. If your'e going to upload a landing page which stays constant for long periods of time, your visitors are likely to get bored.

You are most likely to update your blog atleast on a weekly basis. This keeps the visitors more involved and keeps your site look new :)
