In the past few months I have been monitoring the spam comments on some wordpress blogs I own and have seen a huge pattern which is the main reason why your comments are not sticking (or getting approved).

About 98% of blog comments I see are generally all this kind:

1. "Great blog, subscribed to RSS and bookmarked!"
2. "Thanks for this great post! Bookmarked."
3. "Wonderful post!"

Then some people are really dumb and make comments like this with words people never use:

4. "Magnificent post, your thoughts are very noteworthy and valuable to me, you should continue to write up such extraordinary articles in the future."

Haha, those are probably the most obvious comments in the world you can tell are spam and will most likely NOT get approved unless the blog owner is 50+ and think you are serious (no offense to people 50+ of course).

How to get approved blog comments:

1. STOP BEING POSITIVE. Be negative for some comments. Not negative like "fuck you, your blog sucks" more like disagreeing in some general way.

2. Be creative, saying "Bookmarked and subscribed to RSS" does NOT work anymore.

3. Don't use PERFECT punctuation and grammar! Try something like:
"..hey, great article, i was thinking the same thing."
That looks much more real than a perfect written comment.

I hope this little comment guide helped, most probably know some of these tricks, some might not so I thought it would help.

AKISMET is the main reason blog comments are not sticking.

Or how about take the time to READ each post you comment on, then make a comment DIRECTLY RELATED to that post or the discussion in the comments if one is going on.

Yes it means your commenting will take longer, but remember that blogs are read, and if your comments are high quality and your site is related to the niche of the blog, you are likely to receive some direct referral traffic from the blog readers. Also those readers might have websites too and if they like what you are talking about in your comments and on your website, they might even decide to link to you.

Remember, QUALITY NOT QUANTITY is the key. Also it is worth your time to find and comment on pages with high page rank. Not a blog with a high page rank homepage, but an high page rank INTERNAL where your comment will actually be.

As for Akismet, you will NEVER be detected as spam if you post QUALITY, but Akismet will block all of the low quality spam crap which does nothing more than lower the value of your backlinks.

Also, what I do to boost my backlink building is each post I comment on I send it through Bookmarking Demon. Because I am bookmarking unique content from many different sites, I never have my bookmarking accounts flagged for spamming. This also helps me get my backlinks indexed.

..or, post to non moderated blogs that aren't nofollow.

3 Words: Akismet, Nofollow and Moderation.

Why do people try to post links on Wordpress blogs? It's a mystery to me.

Why do people try to post links on Wordpress blogs? It's a mystery to me.

Because it is the most used blogging platform?

I really don't care if links will be nofollow or not. getting a mix of both makes things look more natural.

It's funny that people don't realize that you only really need 5 or 6 PR 6 and above blogs and you're set.

There's a program I use which you put in a keyword and it automatically lists Blogs and Forums that are PR 5, Do-follow, and are highly related to the keyword.

But I guess if you guys want to do things the hard way :)

You lost my attention on the "Do-follow" part. Does it make pink coffee as well? :D

Manual posting is really what works these days. Askimet is doing IP bans and it's making SB almost useless (the automated part). The manual SB posting is still great.

Two things:

Not all Wordpress is no follow - I still link spam to all of them and find many that are still do follow and auto approve with under 10 comments.

Secondly, I use a similar program as well promoi - but it's not us link spammers that are "Doing it the hard way." In fact, if you knew my entire process, I think you'd fine my time much better spent than waiting for blogcommentdemon to do it's thing.

IF your software is as slow as blogcommentdemon, than trust me - you are wasting a lot of time sir. I go to bed and set SB to post to 300,000 WP or MT blogs with links back to my spam eating parasties. Wake up, look for auto approved while in the shower. Come home from the office, and pagerank check the autoapproved & look for PR3 or greater posts with less than 30 outgoing links. Auto spam those back to my money sites (many more than a few PR3,4,5,6,7 links). Then the ones that didn't auto approve get pagerank checked, I hire out odesk workers to manually submit PR5 and greater back to my money sites.

All in all, I will have spent less then 10 minutes at my keyboard total (even writing the Odesk ad) because I don't have to sit there and wait for it. This will build a lot of link juice into my parasites, and I will have gotten all of the valuable PR3 or greater links that aren't spammed out linked back to my money sites. Click click click, cash.

Hard to beat that 10 minute investment of time.

OH, and just to be clear, I don't care if askimet kills my parasite URLs, because they are parasites... who cares? That's why I have 50-500 of them per site. Secondly, askimet will never suspect my moneypage URL since I never bulk spam it. I really think my methodology is the best of all words from a link spamming perspective. "Proud" blog owners will obviously disagree, and tell me about how they laugh at my spammy comments.... I'm still the one ranking well and getting money on the back end so they can say anything they want, it works and that's the point.

The only problem here is that your giving away too much information. ;)
