When you write blog comments that have fields for your name, website, and comment, do you ONLY leave your website URL in the website field or do you put the website URL in the comment as well? I just did a blog comment and put the URL only in the website field and noticed it didn't show up in the public comment.

Every comment software is different. If you can get your url in the body of the comment surrounded by relevant text, that's better. If you can only get it in the name or something, that's ok too. You can test it out with an unrelated comment before posting your comment.

I'm doing the commenting manually though. I'm not using any software to do the posting, just the finding. I'm only commenting on very high PR blogs and I'm worried that if I just randomly put in my URL in the actual comment it won't stick

Name is better as it hides your link better and won't get noticed by the webmaster that is a spam link.

If you're taking the time to do it manually, depending on what the link is, you may be able to get it in the body anyway. Just work the link in in a way that looks like you're really trying to be useful and not spamming... If it's a site where they are actually moderating, they will see the link if you put it on your name too...

I would suggest getting the link wherever you can. I would assume it would be best if it is surrounded by related content. In some situations its your only choice. I would spend more time getting the right links (of higher quality and relevance) then the quantity of links.

Better to put link in the field comment & use the KW in the name fields... The way they allow link in the comment is when HTML is allowed
