    Hi,

I am a newbie, so please bear with me as I know you all are very good. I have started my first WP Blog in a popular area with 35 posts of content within the last month.

Today, I attempted to use my AdWords account and spend $150 to see how many quality clicks I could get to my site and review the content. Hopefully they are repeat visitors.

In any case, my ad*ense account only reflected for 20 clicks, a little more than $2 for the day! My CPA -- nothing.

I am looking for advice if anyone can help me drive good traffic to the site and convert to ad*ense or CPA revenue.

Thanks in advance and I appreciate any comments.

To be 100% honest adsense can be really tough and if u dont really know what your doing I would start reading and reading and read some more to help figure out what it is you need to do. I don't really use adsense much but I've had friends who just cant seem to make a solid income off it, but i guess to each his own. I'm sure someone here will either answer your question or guide you in the right direction, best of luck.

P.S How much did the keywords cost u? whatever u got....

The keywords don't cost me anything since I have a MCC account. They build my keyword list and ads for free...well, I do need to spend on advertising with them.

    Hi oceanman...

I have embedded YouTube videos into the site. Approximately 1 per day with 2-3 articles posts. All articles have been written with my SEO Keywords as I outsourced to India at $5 each. (Some editing was needed).

One of the YouTube videos was shut down due to copyright request and I was afraid of getting sued. Therefore, I pulled the embedded video down from the site as soon as I saw it.

Are we allowed to post YouTube vids with a disclaimer such as "Courtesy of YouTube" and put a link back to the original YouTube site with the vid?

OMG, you are new to AdWords and want to drive ADWORDS traffic to your site and think you can make profit w/ AdSense clicks?

Forget it......if this even works then it needs ULTRA cheap clicks and a very good adwords knowledge.....and your site must have the best, good paying ads....and it will still be VERY DIFFICULT.

    As to answer your question:

For your purpose pelase forget Adwords,

start with articles, let someone write articles or write yourself, and submit to ezine. Make Squidoo lenses. Make blogs, press releases..etc..etc... all with your links on it.

There are some EXCELLENT squidoo lens building services here and on DP.

use a second tier search engine (there are plenty) and buy the clicks for pennies. SEO the hell out of your pages and be smart on your adsense ad placement.

You should start seeing some profit quickly.

But you must always, and I mean daily, test and test

I'm no adwords expert by any stretch but people (typically) use it to drive traffic to a landing page. Driving the traffic to a blog, with a lot of distractions on it, may not be your best move.

If you still like the immediate traffic from adwords, and you do have a good blog, good content and a decent niche, you could always put up an opt-in form and make money on the back end with the list you develop.

I believe oceanman was referring to creating and uploading your own videos to youtube with your link watermarked on the video and also entered in the video's description. Use youtube to drive traffic to your site.

    ^^^^NO, NO, AND NO!!!!

DO NOT USE ADWORDS FOR THIS PURPOSE!!

Especially with your limited knowledge of adwords, you will only lose insane amounts of money. Adwords Arbitrage as mentioned earlier requires very cheap clicks (<0.05) and even then you need to have a solid knowledge of proper ad placement in order to actually profit with it. I don't recommend it at all.

Instead of throwing money at this whole "Internet Marketing" thing, go do some more reading. Money can not and WILL NOT replace your lack of knowledge. I don't mean to be insensitive or harsh, but you have to take a step back, ease up on the outsourcing/paying for everything, and learn to do some stuff yourself. Learn how this game works and what the purpose of certain strategies/tactics are. Because you clearly don't know what the strength/purpose of blogging is, what the strength/purpose/use of adwords/ppc is, what the purpose of SEO'd articles is, etc etc etc.

All these things are DIFFERENT forms of marketing, with DIFFERENT goals in mind and DIFFERENT methods of achieving them. I mean, once you become more advanced, you can interlink and combine these methods in order to "think outside the box" and achieve great results. But at first, don't try to reinvent the wheel, and instead just do what works.

    For Instance,

Adwords: When considering the use of adwords, or pay-per-click in general, you must take into account the fact that you are paying for each click. And thus, each click has to give you a larger return (in whatever terms you wish, usually monetary) than it is costing. In order to achieve this you site/Landing Page/blog/whatever must be built with ONE THING IN MIND, and that is conversions. There would be no reason to create a blog with quality content and posts then use adwords to drive traffic to it. Because you know that unless it is optimized specifically for converting ie. everything in its design is geared towards sending as many visitors as possible to click on whatever it is you want them to, you will be wasting money. What you must understand, is that SEO margins is so much bigger than PPC, and you have so many other factors to worry about with SEO in order to actually GET THE TRAFFIC, that you can't afford to optimize it well enough for PPC (in most cases). In otherwords, the optimization done on SEO sites is usually not nearly enough to convert well when receiving paid traffic.

I understand that I'm being very basic, and overlooking many intricacies and variations, as marketing always has, but it would be impossible to teach anything in such a short post. The bottom line, is before spending so much/more money and outsourcing, I suggest you do more reading, studying and working hands on, that way you will understand the systems from the inside, and you will know how to manipulate them to achieve your goals.

Trying to make money with Adwords with no knowledge of the system, is like handing google your money. Too often people read 3 page eBooks and feel they are resident experts on complex adwords system. Try second tier PPC before to get your feet wet before you decide to donate to google adwords. Even the guru's on adwords waste money split testing ads on there before they hit a "sweet" spot. Read, read some more.

Watch some video's and then read some more, and when you feel like your an expert tell yourself your not then read some more. It is not something you will master in 1 day, or you can go the copycat route and use a service like Spyfu and copy the exact ad copy for the affiliates who are banking in a particular niche using their keywords in all but even with this method you still need to have a deep understanding of the system.

I'm just echoing/reinforcing what others have said.

Unless you really know what you are doing, adwords is a chumps game.
Yes. as many 'gurus point out it is one of the fastest ways to get people/customers to your site.
But it would seem to be a poor investment just to get visitors/readers.
There are plenty of way to get quality visitors to your site for free, if you aren't paying yourself.
I would only consider using adwords to sell something, not just to get visitors.
You don't have to make money/convert every click but you need a good enough ratio to justify pouring money into your project.

I stopped with adwords, started using other methods and haven't looked back.

Invest a week of research on this forum and you will learn not only learn how to optimize your site for adsense, but many other essential things that are needed to be successful.

Remember... your not competing with another store just down the street, your competing with the entire world for attention.

    From a Newbie:

Dont use adwords when you want to earn with adsense.

There are many ways you can use to promote your site, (if with good content and layout)

you can do seo (read as many step by step guide= search gugel), after fixing your onpage and offpage optimization, you can promote to social media sites, like youtube, myspace, facebook, etc (again search guides for social media promotion).

one newbie tip, if you could make it to the top search results in goo*gle, yah*hoo, free traffic for you there! traffic = moolah

*dont just stick with one blog and most especially, adsense.. explore more, learn more and youll be just fine... goodluck

AW svcks monkey balls, especially for affiliate marketing.

Dont believe in all the hype about affiiliates hitting it big with PPC, its just not true.

    And ESPECIALLY not w/ arbitrage.
