Hey guys, I come from a stealth background in account creation so I was wondering something about SEO - if you're going to be doing blackhat search engine optimization, can't Google just flag your domains based on your hosting IP address? Then again, a great majority of people using shared hosting packages, so I would imagine that there are sometimes 10,000 or so customers on the same server. However, if 2 or your websites are on the same host and linking to each other, it's more than just a coincidence.

So my question is: Would you have to worry about the IP addresses of the different sites you're running when it comes to blackhat SEO? If you had different IP addresses, would it increase the effectiveness of the back links?

This has been gone over a billion times, but the general consensus is that it doesn't matter if you have many sites on the same IP, but if you are interlinking those sites you are in for trouble with ranking and should do them on separate IPs / hosts.

Yeah, dichotom got it spot on. It doesn't matter how many sites are on one ip so long as your sites don't interlink.
