I'm sure a lot of you have heard about and use Tiktok. If so, you've probably run into ads claiming to be selling various products that are "on sale until midnight" for $1-5.

When going to that store and actually purchasing the item, you are unaware that:

1. Your product won't be shipped to you at all
2. After 25-30 days have passed since your purchase - your credit card will be charged $20-30, and the bank statement will say "Starbucks", "Netflix" or "Spotify". In reality, it is that store you purchased from, covering up its tracks by using other brands' names.

How does it happen? Well, when entering your details inside of that store's checkout thinking you're getting brand new headphones for $5, there is actually a hidden pre-checked box inside of that checkout that automatically signs you and every other customer up for that $20-30 MRR charge.

Many behind-the-scenes and even flashy lifestyle eCommerce gurus and guys are running stores like these.

My question is how are they able to do that, and not get caught? What's their payment processing setup etc.?

I'd be very grateful for insights about this.

I'm also curious to know what payment gateway they use.

I know Stripe and PayPal come knocking if you sell any branded goods on your site, so unless they're creating new payment accounts every day before the know you customer cheuqes come in I don;t know how they get away with it.

Shady, "high risk" payment processors in Europe and the Middle East.

Any examples? I think this could be part of a larger scam operation probably from russia (since they are the biggest phishers). In addition to that little charge the cards will likely be sold after that and maybe used for more $.

This scam is popular from 2022, usually you spot it because it has only Credit Card payment on website.Every 7 days, users are geting billed. So the ROI that scammers get are way to high.

You need to post examples. Which gurus are driving theses campaigns?

The setup is simple, many high-risk PSPs our there.

For all those asking for more info none of these people running this type of store are going to be giving more info, if you really want to know they use proxy ad accounts and vcc’s and use Russian payment processors, the term this is often referred to as in BH MRR, most of these guys you won’t find out and about and are usually on telegram with alt accounts and delete after 2 months
