So its a new year, and once again, feel as if its been forever since I worked out.

So things I have to accomplish soon.

1: Find a half decent workout routine

2: Actually follow it to lose weight I gained in the past 6 months.

Anyone out there doing any P90X or ChaLean. The ChaLean one is fairly new, both of them are beachbody products. They booth look pretty good.

    Any feedback on them?

I know theres torrents out there for p90 but not for ChaLean yet. Guess I'm waiting for a torrent.

    haha.

Well I dont smoke and barely drink.

But I'm an It Admin, and have sat on my ass for 2 years. Since starting this job, coming from a job that I stood up for 13 Hours a day.

So It was quite a job change / change of exercise for me.

Step 1: Cut back / stop drinking soda..

    Lately been looking for alternatives.

    Grape Propel is pretty good.

I just went for a run. I have to do something like that every day or else I feel crappy. Truth be told, I'm only into BH b/c it is the kind of thing that will let me be a surf/rockclimbing/ski bum, but still have income and able to buy some gear when I need it.

P90X is pretty tough if you do it correctly and actually DO it when you are supposed to. I did it last summer along with 3mile jogs 4 times a week, basketball workouts, plyometrics and bball pick up games. All that in order to get ready for the NCAA basketball season.

P90X will definitely whoop your ass in shape. Don't forget to do aerobic/long distance running a couple of times a week too.

I went from the Army to sitting on the computer pretty much all day.

I used to have abs and I've noticed how much strength I've lost when I'm re-arranging furniture or just helping someone out with something heavy. I haven't done any hardcore exercising in 2 years, but boy do I need to. I've managed to keep a good shape and stay skinny, I'm just not as strong as I used to be nor do I have near the energy that I used to.

I think I might buy ChaLean, eventually.

If I do I will torrent it up. Unless someone wants to do a group buy, I just dont feel right buying something that I know will be online soon. LOL.

That girl would be way better looking to watch doing workouts then that Tony from P90. LOL.

I hit the gym everyday during the week... I think its actually inhibiting me from making money bc I dont have enough time for BH stuff after work and the gym...

I feel like a POS though if I dont go

Do your blackhat at the gym. Get on the bike, grab one of those mini pcs, connect to gym wifi (most have unsecured connections) and work away. That way you can burn the fat and build the fat (bank that is) at the same time:)

I am definitely out of shape. I quit smoking and have gained like 50 pounds in the process. I have started going for a walk every day with my wife, but I need to hit the Y or buy a weight set and hit it hard.

hahah I was considering getting an excercise bike and finding a way of affixing a laptop to it ... be good for getting my daily quota of blog posts out of the way.

Im out of shape, the sedentary IT job and drinking hasnt helped at all. Stopping smoking was a step forward but need to do more.

Damn, and I thought I was the only one who's gotten totally out of shape in the past year.

Anyway, my ass has gotten bigger than my wallet, so some serious discipline and workouts are in need. :)

What did you think about the paleo diet book? I picked up the Paleo diet for athletes book for my wife, and to be honest it was WAY more complicated than it needed to be.

You should look in to In Defense of Food by Michael Pollan; same basic premise, but MUCH simpler and easier to follow. The basics: Eat food, not too much, mostly plants. Basically, eat real food and not tons of processed crap and you'll naturally become slimmer (if you need to) and more healthy.

I myself haven't had the trouble you guys do. I'm 6'1" and my heavy winter weight will be about 140 pounds. During the summer when I'm riding and racing lots (250-400+ miles a week), I fight to stay at 130 or above. A few years back, we (the wife and I) took me to the ER as we thought I was having a heart attack. Come to find out, my bodyfat % had gotten so low that it caused my left lung to collapse. Scary.
