I'm in the process of organizing the first BLACK-CON here in Las Vegas, NV in the spring. Dates have yet to be set.

It will deal with everything Black hat and will have some expert speakers in link building, cookie stuffing, blog farming, etc....

Going to be a three day event and will be limited to around 100 people. I want to make it limited so that each person can get every cent they put in to attending back in spades.

Who would be interested in attending such a convention? Pricing has yet to be determined but will be around $1200.00.

Not looking for anyone to commit without seeing the program, but am just getting an interest list.

I was thinking about something along the same lines, although more of a BH party and less of a normal convention. The price tag would depend on what was being offered, but I can't imaging that I wouldn't be in. -e-

Oh snap.. BIG MONEY IN VEGAS (I'm a local native Las Vegas resident)!! You have any idea of what casino / convention center you would be hosting it at? Post more details when you have them. I'd help with organizing it if you wanted it.

Yes.. already talking with Tropicanna, Mirage, and Sahara.. Looking for best deal over all.. I have connections at the Trop so it may go there. Rooms are really inexpensive there and the location is excellent...

Mirage would be nicer of the 3, but for the best rates I would imagine Sahara would be the wisest (not sure though, never priced convention space before). If you have connections at the Tropicana, I would say work it there dude. Plus it would be in the dead center of everything so if people wanted to get the Vegas experience, they're right by the heart of the Strip.

Do you have any vendors in mind? I would try to get some sponsors for this dude (don't ask who cause I have no clue what major corp would want to condone a Blackhat convention, LOL).

Would would go? I'm sure every Affiliate Network in the states would LOVE to be there. Local and federal authorities would probably be first in line to buy a ticket with iCANN in line right behind them... MSN, Yahoo, Google.. oooh.. the IRS, save a seat for those party animals. Don't forget the 500,000+ drooling douchebags who are still waiting for the girl they met off of craigslist to turn her cam on.

I would have to say this is a great idea and a dumb idea. i would love to be able to come and hang and talk about what we do with others like ourselves. But lets be honest it would be a good way for every affiliate to find out how were shacking them...

    LOL..

Yes.. .I know that may happen... but like I said it will be EXTREMELY limited.. and even if they are oh well.. I mean it's not like they aren't able to buy all the $500.00 ebooks here as they come out.. etc.. It's not like they are not on this board as we speak... (Well they actually may not be).. My point is the info is out there for them to get even if a convention never materializes.

I mean it when I'm saying it will be limited.. I have thought long and hard about this issue and have come to the conclusion that it really is a non-issue.. I had this idea four years ago and had it bang around in my head bout the "wrong" people attending. But I really think it is a non issue.

Just putting this idea out there to see what people think before I pull the final trigger on it.. (almost ready to do this now)..:)

It would be interesting if I can go.. I plan to be in the states mid november to early december.. I just don't know if this will happen though because of the reasons above. I think a smaller, more group driven bh convention could work. Less formalities, more partying and a bit of time settling down and noting what each person can contribute to the group.

    All the best,

haven't lined up everyone yet... Wheeling and dealing as we speak. But before I start booking I just want to know 1) if there is interest in it and 2) if it's even a good idea... So this thread is really just a discussion point on this to see if it's worth my time to finish what I started..

But with that said, it'll be worth your while and you may know entire list before committing of course. If nothing else you would know most of the list and for a few speakers that wish not to be publisized that they are speaking, then I'll have a few senior VIP's or MOD's here to review the unpublished list and give thumbs up or down on it in public.

I really want this to be successful. and also DO NOT want it to be counter productive (with affiliate spies, etc that have been discussed here)..

I will definately be speaking there... I wrote and sell BlogSlammer! and have a LONG track record in blackhat marketing. Especially in the area of link building and blog farms... I will share many of my unpublished secrets on how I use automated blogfarming to bring in $$$$. The tool I sell was not designed to sell. It was designed and developed by me FOR me to do what I needed to automate many of the things that take time.

One other thought is that it doesn't have to be a convention, per se. Maybe it gives us a way to put faces to names in a fun environment. Just my two cents.

If there really was some speakers there that could/would talk about viable traffic and link building techniques that aren't already widely known then the price tag would be totally worth it.

Why not give it a test run and schedule an event on Stickam.com or related site. Get a few speakers with some content and a web cam... Great way to test the market's desire before sinking time and financial energy into this kind of project.

That sounds pretty cool actually. I would go for a live event or a web version to start out.

'...I usually go to the World Magic Seminar each year.

When I first went, over 10 years ago, it was held at the Tropicana, then it moved for one year to the Stardust and now it has moved off-strip to The Orleans.

I imagine being off the strip it is cheaper and there is really no reason to be on the strip for a convention and I can recommend The Orleans for facilities and rooms, although still my favourite Vegas hotel is The Mirage.

    Just a suggestion'.

i think organizing a blackhatworld party would be more appropriate...

Blackhat is not an industry where you can share tips and tricks in a public convention...
