BLACK HAT Project24 Journey | 3000 Page-views in 12 Months For Under $100

It’s been a few years since my 2 previous journeys/case studies where I successfully ranked an Amazon Affiliate site for under 300 bucks and a CPA site on page 1 for under 100 bucks.

Now I’m back with a new journey and we’re going to follow the Income School philosophy to get 3000 page views in 12 months or so. Since they don’t believe in building backlinks, the only cost is content and videos. To follow their method, we need approximately 75,000 words of content in 30 articles.

Since I’m in no mood to write 75,000 words of content, and buying it would cost thousands of dollars, we’ll have to go BLACK HAT.

If you have issues with copyright infringement or the fact that it’s immoral, this won’t work for you and you’ll probably have to spend a couple of thousand on content.

We’re going to source our content in 3 ways:

Translated content
Books/Magazines (Translated)
Expired articles (from Wayback)

It’s best to compile translated content from different sources to reduce copyright issues however this is definitely NOT a foolproof method. I’m not a lawyer but as far as I know, using expired content or translated content is NOT legal. So you may want to look into offshore/anonymous hosting.

Why 100 bucks …

To be honest, this journey can be done for under 10 bucks. All you need is the domain. I’ve kept a limit of 100 bucks because as per P24, we need to make a few videos and post them on YouTube and I’m going to outsource the video creation on Fiverr or something similar. I’ll probably also buy some Video sharing gigs just to get a few links to the YouTube videos.

I’ll not be writing or buying any content and I’ll not be buying any links even though I know that I can speed things up a lot with a few links.

We may also need some money to buy books. Most English books are available on download sites but sometimes it’s hard to find foreign language books.

I’ll try to post each step of P24 I take with additional info and I’ll be happy to answer any questions anyone has. If some of you want to follow along and build your own site at the same time as me, just let me know and I can share more info about what I’m doing, how I’m doing it etc. We’ll be done in less than a month and then we just wait for 6-8 months while Google does its thing.

There’s nothing really unique in what I’m doing and anybody can do it. It’s just content translation and formatting.

As always, I won’t be sharing any earnings. I’ll only be tracking the page views to see if I’m meeting the targets. Because of COVID, it may take a few more months to meet the traffic targets but that’s okay since we’ll take around a year to be ready anyway.

There's no real link building strategy besides making normal social links. While Income School does acknowledge the fact that links are important, they're against actively building links.

I'm used to building links to all my sites right from day 1 so this is an interesting experiment for me. Here's a video about their SEO philosophy if you're interested:

seems like it's a side journey for you, i hope you find enough motivation to carry this on.
and that's great seeing you not using spun articles. i had really bad experience using them. they don't seem easy to use in 2020
also i think using deepl.com instead of google translate is a better option, you know, google is unpredictable

Definitely make them grammatically correct.

The whole philosophy is to provide useful, engaging content by answering user queries. They don't really believe in keyword research the way we normally do it. It all about finding low competition questions and answering them in-depth. Plus they have a specific article template they follow. So it's a nice and structured way of writing the posts.

Action 1 & 2 - Niche Selection

I checked out a lot of niches and thought about different affiliate options (easy approval) and I feel that the best niche to go for is travel (yeah, COVID, I know).

Although travel is brutally competitive in general, we’re not going to try to build a generic travel blog. It’s best to go with a city or country specific site to make it easier to rank. Plus there is a LOT of content available for travel in different languages (that can be translated), on the wayback archive and in books. I feel that getting travel content for free will be much easier than getting content for other niches that would work for Amazon, CPA or whatever.

We’re going to stay clear of popular touristy destinations like Greece, Spain, Japan, Thailand etc. There are already thousands of small blogs about these destinations and they’re all struggling. I haven’t decided the destination yet but I’m looking for upcoming destinations and destinations that are off-beat.

Some other niche options are off-beat hobbies, history, green living, vegan related stuff, sustainable living, solar power/alternative power, farming, growing wild versions of plants/herbs at home etc ..

There are millions of niches but getting content (that can be translated) for these should be easier. There are probably a lot more that I’ve missed so if you have any ideas, it’d be great to hear about some other options.

Action 2 - 7 Choosing a Topic, Domain Registration, Installing WordPress etc

So I finally zeroed in on a country and decided to go for it. There are a few sites covering this country but they're mostly tour company sites. There are a couple of blogs too but they didn't look that great so I don't think it'll be hard to beat them but we'll see.

There are quite a few Spanish language blogs covering the main keywords like things to do, where to stay etc so it'll be pretty easy to get the content. I'll just have to collect the content from different sources and reformat it to conform with the post recipe.

The next step is the most important since it's about keyword research. I'm familiar with the traditional way of doing keyword research but the Income School method is totally different so it'll take me a couple of days to figure it out and get enough keywords.

Expenses so far:
$4.5 - Domain (Pork Bun)

There's some trick to get your first domain from GoDaddy for 0.99 with a new account but I don't like using GoDaddy so I went with Pork Bun.

Hosting is free for a year with the $300 credit on Google Cloud. There are several other options to get free or super cheap hosting (that doesn't suck). I use WordOps to manage my Wordpress sites. It's free and very easy to use. Shared hosting is bullshit so I never bother with that. If you don't want to use Wordpress, I recommend using Gatsby with Netlify CMS. It's totally free, static, super fast and amazing!!!

Action 8 - Search Analysis & Choosing "Keywords"

I finished the 8th step last night which was all about analyzing the SERP to find low competition keywords.

To be honest, this way of finding low competition keywords is great. It took me a couple of hours but I found around 50 keywords that are super low competition. It should be a joke to rank them normally but I'm not sure how it'll work without links so I'm curious to see the results.

The method is pretty simple. We have to find the questions people are asking using Google auto suggest. It's totally free and doesn't take more than a couple of hours (without any tools). Although they don't recommend using any tools, there are tools like QuestionForge and obviously ScrapeBox that can do the same thing for you.

AnswerThePublic is also a great resource but they only allow 2 searches a day per IP. So you'll need VPNS/Proxies etc to do multiple searches.

Steps 10 to 19 are writing all about writing 10 posts that are approximately 1250 words each. I should be able to do 2-3 posts a day easily since I'm not really writing anything. I just need to find the content and reformat it to make it more useful.

I'm done with the 10 initial posts that had to be written. It didn't take as long as I expected. I wasn't able to meet the minimum word count of 1250 for a few articles because it was just impossible to find useful content to add. I didn't want to just add crappy filler content to meet the word count so I've left it as it is. We'll see how it goes.

The next steps are adding images, legal content etc. followed by building a few resource pages. Shouldn't take more than a couple of days.

great journey

will follow..actually i have been doing the translate process to find many more articles on my niche. There are countries that some articles are really high quality. May I ask how you are checking for plagiarism after the you translate it?
