You need KYC for exchanges, not for wallets.

theres quite some non-KYC options, trustwallet, exodus are some of the hot wallet options. I would advice also lookinginto a hardware wallet if you’re holding a significant amount. All of them are pretty much non-KYC as well.
 
Buy from locals and store in a decentralized wallet.

Metamask only support EVM chains, doesn’t have a BTC option apart from wBTC.

OP should look into Exodus or TrustWallet.
