Just saw the following on a banner ad and clicked it...seems like Bing is really trying to push hard and get a few more percentage points of the market. I ownder how successful this iwll be. Do you see Bing gaining any more market share because of these types of promotions? Would be interested in hearing what everyone thought...

I got paid 50$ to do this comparison in the windows store the other day. Bing will never win even with better search results.

The one thing I missed was advanced search operators.

Just like G+ failed to gain market share with their advertising efforts, Bing will fail as well.

At least you got $50 out of it lol - they must be spending INSANE amounts of money on this push!

Very true. G+ was a major flop! I guess regardless of how much $$$ they dump, if the public isn't receptive then it will go nowhere

Bing is a pretty uninspiring search engine.

The succesor to Google has not even been born yet.

I have talked to normal people that have no clue about SEO tired of G, the most I hear is privacy issues and then irrelevant results. I also heard others like Bing just for the pictures. Either way I think more and more people are leaving G, I have noticed more traffic from Yahoo and Bing and hope the trend continues. Although G still has a death grip on search but hopefully that changes.

Google is that friend we all know and most people do not have a problem with it.

Bing is the new kid, why get to know him if your current friends are good.

Bing will not win unless google do something to upset people.

They have already done that, between privacy issues, data mining and poor search results.

    bing are G copycats..
every movement i have on G SERP bing copy after a week or 2...
    the numbers don't lie!
even my EMD sites that G+ penalize lost rank in Bing after week and half and week after same with Yahoo.
they will never be #1 if they keep copy everything from G

You know what would be funny is if Bing eventually gained more market share than Google and then they started doing all these shitty algorithm changes like Google is right now. A lot of us would probably throw in the towel.

And what does that make Google? Every single service they have is cheap knockoff of a competitor. AltaVista to Google Search, Hotmail to Gmail, Paypal to Google Checkout/Wallet, Facebook to Google+, iTunes to Google Play, iOS to Android, Overture to Adwords, etc.

Half of them are not cheap knock offs, they are superior to the original.
